Won his last two starts over C&D proving as good as ever on his most recent start here off a 4lb lower mark. Suited by the way the races are run around here and ought to be able to continue to run well despite the higher mark; leading player.

15/8
C&D winner at the first time of asking on this surface on a day that he was also making his stable debut. Below form twice since once here over 7f (drop in trip didn't look to suit); first try at this trip since his win, could well bounce back.

Course winner over 5f when with Richard Fahey he looks to have rather lost his way for this yard. Made the running over 1m last time (went off too hard) he's not one of the leading contenders despite a sliding mark, 3lb below his last winning one.

16/1
Chelmsford winner over 1m back in August for David Lanigan she's yet to really take off for this yard, often spoiling her chance by pulling too hard. Did so last time without her usual hood (without it again); first time on Fibresand, has to settle.

9/2
First time on Fibresand and has yet to win a race (0-11 overall). Respectable effort last time out in an amateurs handicap on Tapeta after failing to improve the time before in first-time cheekpieces. Others make more appeal.

Eyeshields on for the first time as he makes his Fibresand debut having run poorly towards the end of last year on the AW. Won twice at Yarmouth over 1m last year, the last win coming off this mark, would need to improve to get involved.

Verdict

The fact that Fancy Footings returns to the C&D that he was so impressive over on his debut for this yard on his initial taste of Fibresand has to be a positive but it’s the dual C&D winner DIRECTORY who is preferred. He arrives on the back of a C&D win and he ought to be able to cope with the 4lb rise that he’s been given. Universal Effect has been given a chance by the handicapper and will go well is she settles and takes to the surface.
