Neither of her runs have offered much in the way of promise for the future. Both of those starts came over longer trip (1m) and she drops in trip here; of no real interest until dropping into low-grade handicaps.
Promising type who was well backed on his second start having clearly gained plenty of experience from his debut when winning over this trip at Lingfield. Won with something in hand having controlled the race; open to progress under a penalty.
Made his one 2yo start over 1m at Newcastle and given his pedigree (speedily bred) he may well have more to offer over this 6f. Failed to settle on his debut but would expect to see more this time around.
First run for this yard having had just the one run as a juvenile for Richard Spencer on the turf at Leicester. Hardly a cheap purchase as 2yo (£30,000) but has an ordinary pedigree and little expected for now.
Newcomer from a powerful yard by Exceed And Excel out of a dam who was an Australian 2yo 5f winner. Ought to act on this surface and given his yard's record with his sort any market support should be noted.
One of three making their debut in the field he's a half-brother to useful winner up to 1m Baciami Piccola (also 5f 2yo winner). Dam won at up to 1m2f but there's enough speed in the pedigree to suggest he should be noted in the market.
Went close on his debut over C&D with his lack of experience probably costing him a winning debut. Strong in the betting once again he failed to follow up his debut promise but looks likely top play a strong part in this.
Just the one appearance as a 2yo over C&D which given her pedigree was always going to prove too sharp for her. Slow away on that occasion she looks one for the longer term who will relish going beyond 1m; best watched for now.
Offered something to work on when making her debut over 6f at Kempton when a 66-1 chance running on late to snatch third. Went backwards last time (looked a hard ride); 7f not appearing to suit, now hooded for the first-time.
Newcomer from a yard not known for their debutant winner in this sphere. Dam 6f winner in Sweden she's likely to be amongst the lesser lights in the betting and during the race.
Forecasts
Will To Win (5/4), Shine On Brendan (2/1), Lion Tower (9/2), Celestial Wood (11/1), Barbelo (33/1), Lucky Beau (33/1), Broughton Sunpearl (40/1), Drew Breeze (50/1), Secret Equity (100/1), Dandy Lass (150/1)
Not an enormous amount of strength in depth in this novice stakes with Will To Win having to concede a penalty picked up for his all-the-way win at Lingfield. He’ll still b e a threat as ere looked to be more to come from the son of Showcasing but on this occasion the concession of 7lb to SHINE ON BRENDAN may just prove too much. Second on his two starts so far he ran into a useful and previous winner having shaped well on his debut this looks a good opportunity. Lion Tower is the unknown quantity in this but he has to be respected given his connections and pedigree and any market support should be noted.
- Shine On Brendan
- Will To Win
- Lion Tower
