Proved to be very underwhelming since switched to handicaps, as emphasised when he was a distant fifth at Wolverhampton (2m; standard) on first try at 2m. Drops back down to 1m4f, and is another 2lb lower but others look more enticing.
Got off the mark at the 18th attempt when successful in a seller at Redcar (1m2f; heavy) back in October. Now makes debut for new stable, so a market check is strongly advised as he steps up to 1m4f for the first time.
High on the shortlist. Set a stiff task over hurdles most recently which is best forgiven. Form he showed when last seen on the flat (head-second at Salisbury in September) would give him solid claims off just a 3lb higher mark.
Won after a break over 1m3f at this track at the start of the year, so it isn't a concern that he hasn't been seen since June. Market check advised as it is likely he could return to form.
Out of form when last seen under this code. However, he has posted a pair of highly encouraging over hurdles in the last month since then. Could be well treated if continuing good run back on the level.
Lightly raced but made a low-key return to action when 10th of 11 on first start for this yard over 1m3f at this track last month. Impossible to fancy judged on that form, and he remains best watched.
10-race maiden, but hard to knock previous two efforts when placed over 1m2f at Lingfield and Chelmsford. Not guaranteed that he will stay, but the step up to this distance could unlock further improvement.
Best to forgive recent efforts over hurdles, and he was a winner when last seen on the level at Windsor (1m2f; soft) in a claimer. 4lb higher mark to contend with, but the front pair drew seven-length clear of the third.
Looks one to oppose at the moment when in such desperate form. Didn't show much enthusiasm over C&D last month, and although he is now back down to his last winning mark, others look wholly more reliable.
Struggling for form of late and failed to beat a single rival at Newbury (1m2f; good to firm) when last seen in July. Now has firs start for 163 days, and he was a C&D winner almost a year ago off just a 2lb lower mark.
Built upon promising handicap/stable debut two starts ago to shed his maiden tag at the fifth attempt at Lingfield (1m4f; standard) last month. Should make a bold bid to follow-up despite the 5lb rise, and is in against some exposed types.
Suffered a string of heavy defeats recently, and was tailed-off on hurdles debut at Taunton (2m; soft) last month. Virtually impossible to make a case for in current form, despite being 23lb below his last winning mark.
Suffered interference on his most recent start when unable to land a blow at Wolverhampton (1m4f; standard). Caused a slight surprise to win at this track over 1m3f prior to that. Looks capable of bouncing back if escaping trouble in-running.
Improved for the step back up to this trip on just her second handicap start when successful at Wolverhampton (1m4f; standard) on her penultimate start. Below-par at Lingfield (1m4f; standard) recently, but could bounce back in first-time visor.
Forecasts
Be Fair (7/2), Noble Fox (7/2), Persian Sun (5/1), Double Legend (6/1), Break The Rules (10/1), Dawn Treader (16/1), Swilly Sunset (20/1), Mrs Ivy (22/1), Mouriyani (25/1), Lightning Attack (25/1), Rail Dancer (25/1), Bird To Love (25/1), My Brother Mike (33/1), Mr Minerals (66/1)
It may have only been a seller he won last time, but Lightning Attack is considered each-way for his new stable. As so many do from this source, Mrs Ivy should benefit for the application of headgear. Break The Rules looks a major player given he was a narrow runner-up when last seen on the flat off just 3lb lower. The most interesting contender is Swilly Sunset who could be well-handicapped on his old form given the improvement he has shown over hurdles for his new yard the last twice. However, BE FAIR is the selection after he got off the mark for his new yard at the second attempt recently. He can go in again on what is just his third handicap start.
- Be Fair
- Swilly Sunset
- Break The Rules
