Form deteriorated since summer wind surgery and has dropped 18lb after series of poor efforts. Down in grade here but needs to bounce back to figure. Jockey in good form at present.
Both career wins have come over 6f and is 0-9 over the minimum trip. Rated 32lb lower than last success and hasn't really done enough in recent starts to suggest he's going to stop the rot.
11-race maiden trying cheekpieces for the first time. Has run well in defeat of late, including when beaten just a neck at Southwell in November in this grade. Decent chance if able to reproduce that level here.
Placed in 5f and 6f handicaps off higher marks on turf this summer and returns following a 140-day break. Both AW wins have come on Fibresand so questions to answer on this surface but is not out of it.
11-race maiden who was trained by Paul Howling until joining current yard in August. Ran respectably latest over 6f and drop back in trip makes sense and could prove competitive.
Landed Kempton 5f handicap in October running off this mark. Mixed messages from two recent runs over C&D but jockey booking catches the eye so well worth a market check.
Raced five times in Ireland for John Joseph Murphy showing only modest form between 6f-1m. Drops back to minimum trip here on debut for new connections. Has started slowly on occasions so will need to break well to have any chance.
Returned from summer break to win for the first time when landing 6f Lingfield maiden in November. Fair efforts in modest handicaps all three starts since and should be very much on the premises down to this level.
Hot Streak filly who has shown precious little in all five starts so far. Weakened quickly and dropped out to finish last at Chelmsford last month and is poorly in at weights even in this company.
Made very little impression in three decent turf maidens turf maiden at 6f-7f but did much better on handicap bow Chelmsford last month when runner-up over 6f. Drops back in trip but has pace and looks a contender.
Poor form in five starts for Richard Hughes and makes debut for new yard here. Showed some speed before weakening to finish sixth on handicap bow at Ffos Las in August so worth a try at this shorter trip.
Forecasts
Jungle Capers (9/4), Blackcurrent (6/1), Musee D'Orsay (6/1), Sarsaparilla Kit (15/2), Miaella (8/1), Angel Force (9/1), Autumn Splendour (12/1), Miss Gradenko (22/1), Jacob's Pillow (25/1), Luscifer (33/1), Hot Hot Hot (80/1)
A very modest contest to start proceedings but it might provide a chance for SARSAPARILLA KIT who has been running creditably in handicaps and has more going for her than most of these. Jungle Capers is interesting after a solid run at Chelmsford last time, and the jockey booking for Kempton scorer Miss Gradenko is an eyecatcher. Others worth a glance include Jacob's Pillow, Miaella, and Blackcurrent.
- Sarsaparilla Kit
- Miss Gradenko
- Jungle Capers
