Magi Gal^t³⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: Siobhan Rutledge⁽¹⁰⁾| T: J C McConnell| OR: 59

7/1

Without a success in six starts at this venue but the daughter of Magician certainly deserves a change of fortune following a number of solid and consistent efforts at this track since September including when not beaten far over C&D.

Form: 012425-

Duke Of Waspington³⁵⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 9-8| J: Luke McAteer⁽⁷⁾| T: A McCann| OR: 57| BF| CD

14/1

Sole win over C&D in five starts over the combination came 12 months ago in division 1 of this contest off a 1lb lower mark. No surprise to see a big run once again.

Form: 0000/19-

(7)

Super Sling³⁵

Age: 10| Weight: 9-6| J: Seamie Heffernan| T: S McParlan| OR: 55| C

33/1

Lightly raced Peintre Celebre gelding. Well beaten on return to action over C&D in November following an absence of over two years. Plenty to find once again.

Form: 23400/0-

(5)

Rince Deireanach^p⁹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-3| J: Gavin Ryan⁽⁵⁾| T: J J Lambe| OR: 52

25/1

Winner of two of her 19 starts on the Flat but only raced on four occasions last year. Infrequent visits to the track will not be helping the mare to progress in the game.

Form: 00/2697-

(6)

Crafty Hugo⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 9-2| J: C D Maxwell⁽³⁾| T: D A McLoughlin| OR: 51| BF| C

10/1

Winner here in November over 1m before disappointing when sent off the 6/4f over the same trip later in the month finishing eighth of the 14 runners. Beaten over 100L in a Leopardstown maiden hurdle last month and hard to make a case for.

Form: 586618-

(3)

4/1

Ran an admirable race over C&D last month to finish third of 14 beaten 1¼L behind Ragtime Red and Scotts Honor (Both run in the 7:30) Capable of having a say in the outcome.

Form: 030303-

(4)

Jazzy J^t²⁵¹

Age: 5| Weight: 8-13| J: Killian Leonard| T: A McCann| OR: 48

14/1

Six-race maiden well held on a couple of starts over C&D in January and April of last year. Well beaten when last seen in April and remains easy to oppose.

Form: 88/9659-

(13)

Paistiul^b1⁸⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 8-13| J: K J Manning| T: J S Bolger| OR: 49

10/1

Unplaced in eight starts so far, most recently over C&D in October when behind Rockview Roman. More needed in first-time blinkers.

Form: 790766-

(15)

Yarraman⁵⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 8-13| J: C P Hoban| T: P J Flynn| OR: 48| CD

3/1

Out of form in three starts since landing the odds over C&D at this venue in March off a 3lb lower mark. May get an uncontested lead which could spell danger for his pursuers.

Form: 721304-

(17)

Caronda^p1³⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 8-11| J: Emma Louise Doyle⁽¹⁰⁾| T: T Doyle| OR: 46

9/1

Solid efforts at this venue in November including a 3¾L defeat over C&D. Holds plenty of respect in first-time cheekpieces and one for any shortlist.

Form: 005237-

(11)

Dandy Sue³⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 8-10| J: N G McCullagh| T: S R B Crawford| OR: 45

33/1

More recently seen plying her trade, unsuccessfully, over hurdles producing a number of dismal efforts since July. 13-race maiden on the Flat and hasn't looked a winner in waiting.

Form: 067980/

(9)

Irish Ambassador³⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 8-10| J: D E Sheehy⁽⁵⁾| T: S Lynam| OR: 46

13/2

Put a host of dismal efforts behind him when showing a liking for this track to finish sixth of 13 beaten 4L behind Spelga over C&D before a 5¾L reversal when dropped to 1m when last seen in November. Not easily dismissed.

Form: 090060-

(8)

Pretty Little Liar^t³

Age: 7| Weight: 8-10| J: Sean Davis⁽³⁾| T: D P Dunne| OR: 45| CD

14/1

Boasts a win and a place from three starts over C&D but has concentrated more on hurdling in 2019. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals.

Forecasts

Yarraman (3/1), Asanda (4/1), Irish Ambassador (13/2), Magi Gal (7/1), Lady Rosebud (15/2), Caronda (9/1), Paistiul (10/1), Crafty Hugo (10/1), Pretty Little Liar (14/1), Jazzy J (14/1), Duke Of Waspington (14/1), Glory (16/1), Make Good (25/1), Rince Deireanach (25/1), Red Vermillion (25/1), Super Sling (33/1), Dandy Sue (33/1)

C&D winner YARRAMAN can get back to winning ways in the closer. The Pat Flynn-trained six-year-old could get a soft lead in the early stages and could have a few of these in trouble some way out. The gelding can add to his win over C&D last march at the expense of the John McConnell-trained Magi Gal who has been running well in defeat over C&D since November and Asanda who ran well to finish third of 14 over C&D last month beaten 1¼L behind Ragtime Red and Scotts Honor. Irish Ambassador and Pretty Little Liar are a couple that could go well at a price.
