Was fairly consistent on his limited appearances on the Flat and proved to be a decent recruit to hurdling when winning on debut over course and distance last month; excellent chance especially if jumping improves.
Well beaten in three starts in maiden/novice company on the Flat and continued in that vein on his hurdling debut here last month; hard to make a case for unless first-time tongue tie helps.
Ran well to finish a close third in a 2m event at Hexham (good-to-soft) when making his hurdles debut at the start of June but well held on recent return over course and distance in November; unlikely winner based on that form.
Took him eight races to break his duck on the Flat, scoring over 7f (soft) at Musselburgh in October; showed he has potential when placed recently at Catterick on hurdling debut; possibilities.
Not much talent on the Flat and two hurdles outings have proved inconclusive; unseated rider on debut at this track and well beaten when last seen last month at Catterick; others preferred.
Had some fair form on the Flat and translated that well on only hurdles appearance at Sedgefield in November; entitled to improve and looks a leading candidate.
Was a maiden on the Flat in six outings; could only finish fifth of 16 on his hurdles debut at Catterick (1m7½f) where he was 11½L off the winner; improved next time up at Musselburgh and definite place chance on that form.
Has some fair form on the Flat and over timber in France but has failed to translate that with two average performances to date at Market Rasen and Cartmel; too soon to write off but others seem more capable.
Plenty of poor performances on the Flat and it has been a similar story on two outings over hurdles; difficult to make a strong case for.
Poor performer on the Flat and beaten nearly 80 lengths on only outing over hurdles; it would be a brave call to suggest she is up to winning this.
Forecasts
Goobinator (8/15), Cawthorne Lad (4/1), Hasankey (9/2), Gordalan (6/1), Boreas Duke (25/1), Lucou (25/1), Numero Uno (33/1), Abwab (50/1), Cool Possibility (66/1), Jazzy Card (100/1)
CAWTHORNE LAD took a while to get the hang of things on the Flat but has taken well to hurdles based on his only outing at Catterick ten days ago where he was not beaten too far over thisa trip on soft ground; entitled to improve and encouraging he is sent out again so quickly. Goobinator gives weight away to all his rivals following his easy success over course and distance last month. Another who is entitled to improve, he should run his race. Hasankey has had a gentle introduction to hurdling but has posted two fair efforts and if building on them he holds good claims to a place finish at the very least.
- Cawthorne Lad
- Goobinator
- Hasankey
