Course winner on his hurdling debut (2m1f) after producing some useful form in bumpers including a win at Ffos Las on his second start. Weak in the market last time when outstaying a better fancied rival; open to more progress stepping up in trip.

Well beaten on his career/bumper debut when the stable was rather quiet (in much better form now) over 2m1f here. Would have needed the run and shaped better than the distance (24L) he was beaten; should do better now given his hurdles debut.

4/1
Winner of an Irish point-to-point on his only start in that sphere he's shown some fair form in two attempts over hurdles (second both times). Ran to the same level on both occasions (had some quirks about him); not sure he needs this trip.

Failed to live up to the form that he's shown on the Flat although he was highly tried on his first start over hurdles. Disappointed last time over this trip and looks more likely to be seen in a better light once he tackles handicaps over obstacles.

3/1
Disqualified from first place in his second Irish point-to-point in 2017 his bumper debut for Rebecca Curtis showed promise (still rough round the edges). Beaten 5L over C&D on his debut for this yard after two year absence; progress likely now.
6
Horse silk
66/1
Showed nothing in two hurdles starts so far beaten 49L on the first occasion and 79L on the second. Ran over 2m1f here last time (finished ninth of 11); hard to make a case for him on the evidence so far.
7
Horse silk
100/1
Showed very little on her bumper debut earlier in the year looking to need time and distance (bred to do so). Still looked inexperienced when last of seven when returning from a nine month break at Carlisle; makes hurdles debut, expectations low.

Verdict

Not an awful lot of strength in depth in this novices’ hurdle but two nice prospects take each other on with course winner INDURO getting a narrow vote. He won well here last time beating a better fancied rival and looks as though he will appreciate this step up in trip with the Pipe yard 2-4 here in novice hurdles in the last five years. Main rival O’Hanrahan Bridge sets a decent standard on his C&D second here last month after a long absence, he may still need this experience. Evander has shown ability over hurdles and deserves consideration with Cyrus Keep capable of a better display on his hurdling debut with his yard in good form.
  1. Induno
  2. Evander
  3. O'Hanrahan Bridge
