Scored his first success in almost a year when looking a more straightforward ride than usual when recording his second C&D success last time. Fallen a long way in the handicap, remains on a good mark despite a penalty; inconsistent sort.

Scored on his last run for his previous stable over this trip at Chelmsford to end a long losing run off a 4lb lower mark. Shaped well enough in two of his three starts for this yard; found 1m stretching him last time, ran well below form.

C&D winner who has shaped encouragingly in his last three starts especially last time out when he was a warm order (ran far better than finishing position). Denied a clear run (finished with running left), will defy current mark soon; leading player.

Chelmsford winner over this trip in the summer his form of late is a little inconsistent; did appear to return to form last time over C&D. Capable of winning in this grade; not certain to reproduce his last run, comes with risks attached.

First run for yard having had just the one run for Ali Stronge over 6f here, ran poorly (has scored over that trip at Kempton for another former yard). Trainer has a good record with stable switchers (17% on AW last five years), note a market move.

C&D winner for Mark Johnston earlier in the year (claiming company) but has shown very little since in a mix of AW/turf handicaps off a rapidly declining mark. Well held last time out off the back of a three-month beak, far from a leading contender.

Had been knocking at the door for ages and finally won last time over C&D, quickening well, looks as though he could score again (beat Maazel). Coupled with some good efforts in defeat he looks dangerous to ignore off a 6lb higher mark.

Ran well over C&D last time (third behind Prince Rock/Maazel) in first-time blinkers (retained) although her demeanour continues to make her look a hard ride. A long-standing maiden (0-21) she looks a hard sort to win with given her antics last time.

Nowhere near the same form that he was in at the start of the year when he reeled off three consecutive wins over 7f at Kempton. The handicapper appeared in charge after that charge up the weights, back down in the weights but running poorly of late.

Four-time course winner with the only win at this trip coming in this race last year by 1L off a 6lb higher mark. That was his last win though and he looks to be toiling of late, will do well to repeat last year's success despite a lower mark.

On a long losing run which is the reason for his mark falling to this lowly level and creditable runs have been far and few between of late. Well behind Agent Of Fortune over 1m here last time (without usual headgear); revival needed but unlikely.

Has made very little impact this year and disappointed last time over 1m here (well behind Agent Of Fortune) upped markedly in trip. Often races lazily and with no wins for well over two years makes very little appeal as a winning prospect.

Verdict

A reasonably competitive race for the grade but having taken a long time to get off the mark PRINCE ROCK who won over C&D last time is taken to follow up given the manner in which he won his last contest. Maazel who was second to the selection on that day will surely win a race soon off this mark although he does look the sort who needs all the chips to fall his way. Last time out winners Kodiline and Agent Of Fortune are both respected although the former can’t be guaranteed to show his form again whilst the latter faces a stiffer task than when winning her last two starts.
