Has shown some promise in bumpers at Wexford and here but her latest eighth of 22 is still a long way from what's required to get competitive.
Twice-placed in bumpers in the spring bit disappointing in hurdles bow at Thurles last month. Form in this sphere means better fully expected and blinkers could focus her better.
Newcomer by Califet a half-sister to bumper/high-class 2m hurdle winner My Tent Or Yours (second in three champion hurdles). Exciting newcomer from top yard one to note in the market.
Fair efforts at Galway and here although ultimately well held in each. Probably fare better once jumping a hurdle and yard have a better chance today with Daphne Moon.
Failed to complete the course in four point-to-points; fair effort in bumper at Cork in May and would have done better at Limerick finishing fifth but disqualified after rider failed to weigh in. Another step up needed.
Improved in three bumper so far and took another step forward when beaten just ½L into third (of seven) at Downpatrick. That form puts her in the mix here and may improve again.
C&D third beaten just over 5L on debut and filled same position at Punchestown in a warmer race against the boys. Back in mares only company she has a leading chance to get off the mark.
Shade disappointing in a mares bumper at Limerick finishing sixth considering she's twice earlier finished second against the boys. Could bounce back and certainly not ruled out.
Arakan newcomer a half-sister to four winners under NH rules including one bumper scorer. Market best guide to expectations here.
Daughter of Ask beaten 18L into fifth of seven last month at Fairyhouse. Should improve but doubt it'll be enough to feature.
Unraced daughter of Getaway out of a French 1m2f winner has the considerable assistance of Patrick Mullins and she should be watched in the market for yard which often unearths decent bumper performers.
Forecasts
Daphne Moon (10/11), Fairyhill Run (7/1), Miss Pernickety (8/1), Annie Kate (8/1), Beth Horan (9/1), Lady Temperance (10/1), Lady L'lerom (16/1), Chelseas Friend (16/1), Coosan Clover (20/1), Gold Label (33/1), Jaipore (40/1)
In a relatively open looking bumper DAPHNE MOON gets the vote for Gordon Elliott who has a 22 per cent strike rate in bumpers. Her two good thirds against males rank her a leading player now back against her own sex. Coosan Clover and Miss Pernickety have comparable form in bumpers and both have obvious claims here too.
- Daphne Moon
- Coosan Clover
- Miss Pernickety
