Cost 110,000 gns as a yearling. Narrowly denied on his only start 12 months ago over C&D for his previous yard although the form of that race hasn't worked out. Joined new connections for £23,000 since and best watched unless positive in the market.
$140,000 yearling; half-brother to three winners in America. Was prominent in the betting on debut at Kempton (7f) two weeks ago but never landed a blow finishing seventh, beaten 7L. Will need to have learnt plenty on that occasion.
Showed ability when fifth over 1m½f here on debut and built on that be beaten just 2L into third over C&D 12 days ago. This appears to be a stronger race so more required but has an each-way squeak.
Built on an encouraging debut over C&D to finish third at Southwell (1m) shortly after, beaten 5¼L. Couldn't match that, however, back there over 7f last time and will need to return to his earlier form. Has a chance if he can.
Didn't build on a fair start at Kempton (7f) when missing the break there (6f) 17 days ago. Has raced keenly on both occasions which hasn't helped his cause and will need to settle better to trouble the principals.
Makes his GB debut after joining this team for £34,000 recently. Three very solid runs in France (1m-1m2f) and the drop to 7f may suit on pedigree (related to 6f/6½f Group 1 winner Regal Parade). Likely to make his presence felt.
Cheap purchase earlier this year (6,500 gns) but related to winners and never got involved at Southwell (6f) after missing the break on debut. May appreciate this surface and yard in good form, with three winners from their last nine.
Price dropped from a 50,000 gns foal to 25,000 gns two-year-old. Related to three winners (including one at this track) and, whilst yard do get occasional winning newcomers, may well be better with experience. Betting will guide.
Expensive daughter of Dark Angel at 425,000 gns. She is related to three winners; Group 2 winner Royal Dornoch, Grade 2 winner Hawksmoor and Group 2 placed Magical Pulse. From a leading yard and is worthy of respect of debut.
Well beaten in all 12 starts and, with an official rating of just 29, is unlikely to being involved once again.
Forecasts
Monya (5/4), Motawaafeq (5/1), Badayel (5/1), Brenbar (6/1), Zhukovsky (14/1), Montys Inn (14/1), Memory Hill (22/1), Just Magic (25/1), Mr Millarcky (40/1), Tilsworth Prisca (200/1)
An intersting maiden in which French import MOTAWAAFEQ brings the best form to the table from across the pond and it's interesting connections run him rather than in handicap company. The newcomer Monya has a terrific pedigree and has to be respected and it has to be noted that connections are persevering whilst Memory Hill showed enough at Southwell two runs back to warrant a second look if returning to that form.
