21,000 gns two-year-old out of a winning sprinter in North America; bred to be effective on an AW surface; two reasonable efforts at Kempton (three months apart); can improve and one for shortlist.
Heeraat colt out of 7f Listed winner Radio Gaga; has been brought along steadily and posted best effort last time out at Chelmsford last month; entitled to improve and has chances.
Sales price fell from 42,000 guineas foal to 16,000 guineas as a yearling; by Iffraaj out of dam closely related to some useful performers.; some promise on debut at Kempton in October; can progress and market could be good guide.
Showed up well for a long way on debut at Southwell at the end of last month when weakening in the closing stages; should be fitter and stronger here and one to note.
Has tried to make all on both starts to date but finished last in each contest; needs to settle better and interesting what tactics will be employed here for this well-bred filly.
First foal by Due Diligence and hails from family of past 1000 Guineas winner Cape Verdi; no great shakes on both her two starts to date and likely to be of more interest from a betting perspective when sent handicapping.
Failed to shine in her opening three starts on the track but showed signs of ability here in November before only being headed in final strides last time out at Lingfield; cheekpieces applied and looks the one to beat.
1,000gns vendor retained yearling by Gutaifan; third foal; dam unraced sister to 7f 2yo Listed winner Queen Of Poland; trainer not having a particularly productive season with juveniles.
Has plenty of experience and has shown glimpses of ability in her four starts to suggest she is capable of winning a race of this quality; trainer may have found a decent opportunity to get off the mark.
Forecasts
Jalwan (9/4), Holy Eleanor (5/2), Millionaire Waltz (4/1), Secret Smile (13/2), Paint It Black (18/1), Whitehaven (18/1), Rich Girl (40/1), High Maintenance (66/1), Golden Times (80/1)
HOLY ELEANOR has taken time to get the hang of things but showed she could be a progressive filly when only narrowly being beat at Lingfield last time out, showing a good spirit up the home straight. Well backed that day, expect similar market support if connections feel she is capable of winning this well. Secret Smile is another who has been slow to come to hand but is starting to show signs of ability and is expected to progress once again. Whitehaven got tired on her debut as Southwell in November but with that run under belt expect her to run a prominent race from her low draw.
- Holy Eleanor
- Secret Smile
- Whitehaven
