A winner over hurdles in France. Has yet to score in six attempts in the UK so far where he has featured over hurdles and fences. He was third of seven in a 2m chase at Ludlow last time. Has a good chance off this mark on his return to hurdles.
Scored in emphatic fashion at Sedgefield (2m1f) back in January. He has refused to race on his last two starts which is a big concern. Blinkers are on for the first time which may help. Best to watch for now.
Prevailed on his debut in the UK over hurdles at Market Rasen (2m½f) but has not followed that up since. His last run was at Ffos Las (2m4f) where he was fourth of nine. Drops down 2lb and has a tongue-tie on for first time. One to consider.
Was successful over hurdles for the first time when he won at Wexford (2m) three runs back. Could only finish eighth of 11 on his opening run for his new yard last time at Wetherby (2m3½f). Capable off this mark.
Recorded his second win of his career at Plumpton (2m) on his penultimate start. Was unable to add to his tally at Taunton (2m½f) on his latest appearance as he was fourth of 16. Down 1lb again. One for the shortlist.
Remains a maiden after four starts under Rules, although he has finished second on two of those outings. Has not featured since he was fourth of seven at Doncaster (2m3½f) back in January. Has been eased 2lb. Has each-way claims.
Came close to scoring in France before moving to the UK but he remains a maiden. He was third of nine at Ffos Las (2m) on his latest attempt. Set for his handicap debut here which puts him in with a great chance of success.
Was a winner on his debut on the track at Auteuil (1m7f) in France. Has been largely disappointing on his six appearances in the UK, including last time when he was pulled up at Warwick (2m). Is down 6lb so this latest mark makes life easier.
Has failed to shine in three races under Rules. He was a long way off the winner when he came back sixth of 16 at Chepstown (2m) on his latest outing. One to watch unless there is strong market confidence on his handicap debut.
A two-time C&D winner. Scored at Bangor (2m½f) three starts ago but his latest two efforts have been below his best, including when he was 24L off the winner when he was third of nine at this course over 2m4f. Others are preferred.
Forecasts
Poucor (4/1), Desque De L'Isle (9/2), Demopolis (5/1), Red Mix (11/2), Comber Mill (7/1), Demon D'Aunou (7/1), Present From Dubai (10/1), Sastruga (12/1), Christopher Robin (20/1), Ninepointsixthree (40/1)
DESQUE DE L'ISLE has shown enough so far to suggest his first win is close and it may well come here on his handicap debut. The six-year-old remains open to improvement so expect him to deliver at the sixth attempt. Red Mix is down to a mark which gives him a great chance of scoring for the first time in the UK on his switch back to hurdles, while Poucor is just 2lb higher than when he won at Plumpton on his penultimate outing so take him to fill up the placings.
- Desque De L'Isle
- Red Mix
