Only win from 18 starts has come over the testing Southwell mile on Fibresand and while he has weakened recently over a mile it is by no means certain this drop back to 6f will prove the key to success.

Fair handicapper in his time winning six races for Amanda Perrett. Appears not to be the force of old and soon beaten last month over C&D on debut for new connections. Plenty of work to do on that evidence.

Won over 7f at Yarmouth this summer then returned from a break to win here last month over 7f off 5lb lower mark. Trainer suggested gelding went well fresh so not guaranteed to repeat the feat off just one-month break.

Won 6f juvenile event for Brian Meehan last term but has been on the downgrade this year for current yard, although has run better off much lower marks three of last four starts. May still find a few too good though.

Handicap bow for Epaulette filly who ran just three times last year and was third over C&D twice. Year absence to overcome but doesn't look overburdened and is far less exposed than most so is of some interest.

Had been on the slides prior to winning in decent fashion over C&D penultimate start off 3lb lower and may not have handled the Fibresand when runnng poorly at Southwell last time. Chance on previous effort.

Speedy sort who has won twice here over 5f and scored over 6f at Wolverhampton in May. Mid-term break prior to two fair efforts of late and may well be in the mix with handicapper dropping him 2lb since latest effort.

Ended last year winning over C&D but has only been seen four times in 2019 . Missed the break at Southwell last month on first run since May and hard to know where we stand with him at the moment.

Dropped 15lb in the handicap this yard and had shown no sign of improvement prior to two slightly better, if ultimately well beaten efforts of late. More needed and is hard to recommend.

6f Catterick handicap winner last term and won over 5f at Musselburgh on penultimate start for Iain Jardine. Makes debut for new handler and worth a market glance having placed 4-8 on AW.

Generally disappointing in six starts so far although showed some modest ability over 5f at Southwell last month. Poor effort though last time and looks up against it once again.

Forecasts

Etikaal (2/1), Almurr (10/3), Pearl Of Qatar (7/2), Global Humor (4/1), Kyllachy Warrior (11/2), My Town Chicago (6/1), Klopp (8/1), Lightning Charlie (10/1), I'll Be Brief (12/1), Equidae (14/1), Zebulon (16/1), Granny Roz (20/1), Super Florence (25/1), Maerchengarten (50/1)

Verdict

My Town Chicago may do best of the three last time out winners in the field and a bold show is anticipated if backing up his pleasing win at Kempton. Etikaal and Pearl Of Qatar are both respected but will do well to follow up their respective recent succeses, so a chance is taken on the unexposed handicap debutante I'LL BE BRIEF, who has placed twice at this track of late and could go well despite a long asbence. Klopp, Global Humour and Kyllachy Warrior are others who may well be in the shake-up.
