Best effort from three starts came on Fibresand at Southwell on second outing and bit disappointing last time at Wolverhampton. No easy task on handicap bow from wide draw.

Second in Hamilton 6f maiden earlier in term and decent show following three month break when fourth at Southwell ast month. Can front run and fair display would not surprise.

Three runs in Ireland for Kieran Cotter showing a little ability but never threatening to get involved, Makes debut for new connections having a good season so worth a market check for signs of confidence on British bow.

The Grey Bay60
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Jason Hart| T: Miss J A Camacho| OR:  55

Gutaifan colt who has had three runs so far and makes his handicap bow. Has hinted at some ability so an improved display would be no surprise off modest debut mark.

Surprse 14/1 Wolverhampton nursery winner penultimate start off 4lb lower than lost a shoe there on return visit last time. Yard among the winners and latest effort can be excused.

First start back following wind suregry and interesting to see if he shows any sign of improvement after a series of ordinary runs so far. Plenty more needed.

12 runs without success this season for Tim Easterby although went closest on final start fo him when second over C&D in October. Two starts since for new connections and failed to handle Fibresand at Southwell last time.

Yard had superb 2019 campaign and still having a few winners. 46,000 euro Dandy Man filly who showed some speed first two start but poor run latest. Handicap bow off basement mark and wears first time hood and tongue-tie.

Three runs so far with little to write home about, although was hampered at start on latest outing at Catterick. Handicap bow and first-time cheekpieces applied but hard to see her proving good enough even at this level.

Finished last in each of first two starts then managed to beat a few home last time at Newcastle over 7f. Drops right back in trip on handicap debut for yard among winners but seems an unlikley winner.

Looks very moderate and has yet to reach a place in eight starts so far. Didn't get home over 7f last time but by no means certain he has the pace to be effective back at this minimum trip.

Forecasts

Lezardrieux (5/2), Quiet Word (9/2), The Grey Bay (5/1), Mews House (6/1), Smart Project (7/1), Comeatchoo (9/1), Navajo Dawn (10/1), A Go Go (14/1), Apples Acre (18/1), Newsical (20/1), Pacific Coast (28/1), Tiltilys Rock (66/1)

Verdict

Most of these have been little to write home about so far so a chance is taken on handicap debutant THE GREY BAY. He has shown a few signs of having enough ability to win a race like this and is open to improvement in this company. A Go Go is not out of it and Lezardrieux at least knows how to win, while Quiet Word represents a good yard and has been declared with two new additions to try help her along. Navajo Dawn is another who enters calculations along with top weight Mews House.
  1. The Grey Bay
  2. A Go Go
  3. Navajo Dawn
