Veteran, winner of three of his 13 starts over hurdles but has been a little out of form in a couple of starts over 2m and 2m6f last month. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.
Winner of two of his 17 starts over hurdles the Arakan gelding posted a best effort for sometime when finishing second of nine beaten 2½L at Punchestown over 2m last month. Not the most reliable of sorts and not the easiest to catch right.
Three-time winner over hurdles. Efforts when last seen in the spring were well below-par and has not shown enough overall to be of interest in this company.
Mainly seen plying his trade on the Flat over the summer and more recently on the AW at Dundalk. Capable hurdler winner of one of his five starts at the discipline. Worth a market check.
Both career wins in 12 starts over hurdles have come on good ground. Well below-par form in three starts since winning at Clonmel in September. No surprise to witness a return to form.
Miserly return of just the one win over hurdles from 19 starts but the gelding was last seen winning a competitive 2m handicap chase on soft ground this venue last month. Should be in the mix given current form.
Well held in four dismal hurdling efforts to date including a couple of defeats in similar company on return to action over C&D early last month. No surprise to see vast improvement on handicap debut.
Running well with plenty of credit over 12 months ago over the larger obstacles including a win last time out at Punchestown on good ground over 2m6½f. C&D winner previously and one to note in the market.
Stowaway gelding. Showed some ability in bumpers and improved on his hurdles debut when fourth at Clonmel before a creditable sixth of 15 over C&D last month. Likely to go well.
Modest 68-rated Flat handicapper for trainer David O'Meara. Four-race maiden over hurdles and liable to find a couple stronger in this contest.
Solid and consistent form over C&D boasting a win and a couple of place efforts from five starts over the combination. Likely to find a couple of better handicapped sorts lurking.
One from 22 starts over hurdles. Form overall since August has not been up to standard and it appears difficult to see where improvement is coming from.
Sole win over hurdles came when shedding his maiden tag in April last year. On balance probably has something to find in this company.
Forecasts
Goodbye Someday (4/1), Scheu Time (11/2), Farid (6/1), Powersbomb (7/1), Mountain Fox (10/1), Port Rashid (10/1), Pound A Stroke (12/1), Peaches And Cream (12/1), Velocity Boy (12/1), Tikkanen Express (16/1), Cluan Dara (20/1), Hareth (28/1), Kingdom Brunel (33/1)
The Brian McMahon-trained POWERSBOMB can follow up on his shock win at odds of 16/1 in a handicap chase over 2m½f at this venue last month. The nine-year-old can land the spoils a full 9lb lower than his rating over the larger obstacles at the expense of the Gavin Cromwell-trained Peaches And Cream, recent Punchestown second Scheu Time and Tikkanen Express, another to have won over the larger obstacles on their most recent start.
- Powersbomb
- Peaches And Cream
- Tikkanen Express
