Made a winning debut over hurdles over 2f shorter here last month and although that wasn't a strong contest, he looked a real stayer and this longer trip is very much in his favour. More to come and should play a part.
Relished the soft ground when landing a gamble in similar event over 2m4f at Ffos Las recently in the manner of an improving type. Stamina looks his strong point and this slightly longer trip will be to his liking.
Some promise on hurdling debut over 2m1f on soft ground at Carlisle in October when 15L fourth and the runner-up franked the form last weekend with a win. Sure to be suited by this longer trip though improvement is needed.
Won a point-to-point in April but poor form this season in a bumper and on hurdling debut and looks a long term prospect so readily passed over here.
Won weak point-to-points but has shown nothing under Rules and although the step up in trip is a plus needs to take a major step forward.
Similar level of ability in bumpers last season and although this longer trip will help, his bare form is ordinary and switched to hurdles here needs to bring about plenty of improvement.
Won a point-to-point last spring on soft ground and sold after for €110,000. Showed good attitude when landing a Kelso bumper on soft ground on debut for these connections and interesting now going hurdling at a more suitable trip.
All out to win point-to-point on good ground in May and sold shortly afterwards for £35,000, but that was a weal affair with only three finishers and now goes hurdling on softer ground.
Fetched £72,000 after winning a point-to-point in April but showed little on hurdling debut although yard in much better form now so capable of leaving that form behind so worth noting in market.
Showed ability on both runs over hurdles last season latterly with an 11L third of nine over C&D in January. Not seen since so may presumably has had issues and could just need this.
Showed nothing in three previous runs in this sphere but has shown remarkable improvement on the Flat since with six wins on various ground at up to 2m improving 36lb in the process. Interesting now back over hurdles and market may guide.
No sign of ability in trip of bumpers at huge prices when trained in Ireland and needs to take a huge step forward now going hurdling for new yard.
Forecasts
Young Bull (11/10), Oscar Robertson (3/1), Black Ebony (5/1), Le Cheval Noir (12/1), Maid In Manhattan (14/1), Western Aussie (25/1), Holme Abbey (28/1), The Composeur (33/1), Shattered Glass (33/1), Crack Du Ninian (80/1), Wonderful Woman (100/1), Eden Collonges (100/1)
Some progressive types meet here and narrow preference goes to YOUNG BULL who seemed to have a bit in hand when landing a gamble at Ffos Las and looks the sort to improve again. Oscar Robertson is another previous winner who will appreciate this longer trip though this looks a stronger contest then the one he took here last month and Le Cheval Noir is another who takes the eye now going hurdling in what could prove an informative novice.
- Young Bull
- Oscar Robertson
