Course winner who looks a rejuvenated character of late as he showed no sign of his previous weak finishing tendencies under today's rider at Catterick last time. Up 5lb but retains some handicapping scope if he can finish off his race again.

One of the lesser lights of the stable and even in first-time blinkers he checked out fairly tamely last time on his first start back from a wind op. Went keenly and well through the race; possibility of another tame finish tempers enthusiasm.

On fire when he landed a hurdles hat-trick in 2017 but has shaped since then as one who has problems as shown by his recent chase return here after a wind op. Lost touch early after leading (looked none too keen), pulled up, comes with risks.

Came from Ireland with little form to her name but has at least improved since moving to GB scoring over fences at Southwell in August off 3lb lower. Went the wrong way from that effort last time over fences; questions to answer.

Showed signs on his chasing debut for his former yard that he may be up to winning a small handicap in this sphere. Hasn't so far lived up to that promise but now with a new yard who have a very lenient handicap mark to work with; interesting.

Yet to win a race under Rules although he ought to have over fences although he now appears to be held back by some slipshod jumping. Proved strong in the betting once again last time over 2m1f here; mistakes mean he's hard to recommend.

Captured a couple of Sedgefield handicap chases earlier in the year of lowly marks but hasn't as yet reclaimed that sort of form having had two starts off a break. Still above his last winning mark and comes here with a bit to prove.

Poor form over fences and comes here off the back of a pulled up effort over hurdles although to be fair the trip (3m1f) probably stretched his suspect stamina. Not sure he 'll make much of an impact here on what he's so far shown over fences.

Forecasts

Dallas Cowboy (3/1), Holy Street (3/1), Global Ruler (7/2), Picknick Park (7/1), Ask Paddy (8/1), Two Hoots (10/1), Jacobite Rising (10/1), Kildaven Spider (16/1)

Verdict

This isn’t a strong contest by any means with the majority of the runners having question marks against them. DALLAS COWBOY has fewer black marks against him than most and he appeared to finish off his race better than usual last time when ridden by Emma Smith-Chaston who has of late produced one or two excellent rides and horses appear to run for her. Global Ruler has to be thrown into the equation although his finishing effort will be under the microscope after he stopped very quickly last time. Picknick Park isn’t jumping well enough to be considered for win purposes and it may well be that the well handicapped stable debutant for Lucy Wadham Holy Street can make his mark.
