Justified favouritism when a game C&D winner (heavy) on chasing debut three weeks ago, beating the reopposing Ballyart by 2L; 4lb higher; his fast, fluent jumping was his key asset on that occasion.
Things haven't really gone her way since returning to fences this season; that said, she kept on strongly after a mistake at the third last to get within 2½L of the winner Parlour Maid over 2m4f here (heavy) a fortnight ago; shortlisted.
Took a while to warm to his task over C&D (heavy) three weeks ago when finishing second (beaten 2L) to the front-running Pres; it's questionable as to whether or not he can he reverse those placings on 3lb better terms.
Brought his record over fences (rules) to 0-3 with a lacklustre display at Chepstow (2m7½f, soft) a fortnight ago; has shown ability on soft ground over hurdles; hopefully the newly added blinkers can revive.
Remains a maiden over fences (0-6) with few obvious excuses for a modest effort (beaten 7-4f) at Plumpton (3m1½f, heavy) last month; ideally could do with being eased a few pounds by the handicapper.
Sits 4lb higher than when winning by a neck at Warwick (3m, good) in May; jumped to his right when chasing home Big Meadow (beaten since) at Chepstow (2m7½f, soft) 27 days ago; place chance.
Six-race maiden; started 16-1 when falling at the first fence on chasing debut at Fontwell (2m5½f, soft) 16 days ago; unappealing stablemate of Burgess Dream.
Won twice over fences last December, including by a nose in this race (heavy); weakened quickly from the fourth last on seasonal reappearance (2m4f) three weeks ago - race was won by Kingston Mimosa; visor now applied; stablemate of Beet Topper.
Broke his duck over fences (ninth attempt) when beating Don't Be Robin by 2¾L here (2m4f, heavy) three weeks ago - holds Burgess Dream on that basis; 5lb rise is negated by the 7lb claimer Fergus Gillard; key player.
Six-race maiden; jumped poorly on rules chasing debut at Southwell (2m4½f, good) in March; one-paced fifth of eight to Velvet Cognac over hurdles at Fontwell (3m2f, soft) on seasonal reappearance.
Forecasts
Pres (7/2), Seaston Spirit (4/1), The Manuscript (4/1), Ballyart (6/1), Kingston Mimosa (7/1), Ruby Yeats (11/1), Three In One (14/1), Monbeg Aquadude (16/1), Burgess Dream (16/1), Beet Topper (50/1)
Pres made all, out-jumping Ballyart when winning over C&D three weeks ago. His subsequent 4lb rise (runner-up is 3lb better off) is much less of a concern than his actual welter-burden of 12st 1lb. With that firmly in mind, be prepared to take a chance on the stamina reserves of the seven-year-old KINGSTON MIMOSA. He broke his duck over fences at the ninth attempt when winning over 2m4f (heavy) here on that very same card, and a subsequent 5lb rise in the weights is offset through the deployment of the 7lb claimer Fergus Gillard. Others with an each-way chance include The Manuscript (Jonjo O'Neill) and Ruby Yeats (Gary Moore).
- Kingston Mimosa
- Ruby Yeats
- Pres
