83-rated handicapper on the Flat. Off the mark at the second attempt over timber when landing a Punchestown contest over a similar trip last month. Winner again since and a lively contender. Yard won this contest in 2016 with Landofhopeandglory.
Six-race maiden, rated 73 on the Flat. One of two in the contest for the yard and this looks a tough ask on hurdling debut.
Without a win in five starts on the Flat including three defeats on turf. Won at the third time of asking over hurdles earlier this month. Strong contender representing yard who landed the spoils in 2016 with Landofhopeandglory.
Winner of one of his 12 starts on the Flat, rated 80 earlier in the year. Looks a tall order from connections on debut over hurdles.
Useful 85-rated handicapper on the Flat for trainer Joseph O'Brien. Well held beaten 45L over a similar trip on final start for the yard at the Curragh last month. Appears to have a mountain to climb on hurdling introduction.
Runner-up on sole start in France in May before a switch to new connections. Beaten favourite on stable debut at Down Royal this month. Yard have won this contest on three occasions since 2008 including 12 months ago with Chief Justice
Modest 56-rated handicapper on the Flat before outrunning his odds on hurdling debut to finish third of 14 beaten 5¼L in a Punchestown 2m contest earlier this month. More needed in this contest.
Winner of the Ulster Cesarewitch handicap over 2m2f at Down Royal in August. Off the mark on her second start over timber at Gowran Park earlier this month. Yard last landed the spoils in this contest eight years ago with Sam Bass.
Not disgraced in a number of starts on the Flat but has plenty to prove on third start over hurdles following 37L and 21L defeats in maiden company since her debut over timber last month.
Forecasts
Cerberus (5/4), A Wave Of The Sea (5/4), Dinard Rose (6/1), Saint D'Oroux (14/1), Tremwedge (25/1), Hammersmith (33/1), Royal Aide (40/1), Cafe Con Leche (50/1), Guinevere (50/1)
It could come down to a tussle between stablemates A Wave Of The Sea and CERBERUS, where the latter is taken to reverse the placings with the former following a Punchestown contest over a similar trip last month with no more than a neck separating the pair. The son of Iffraaj can progress from his facile victory over C&D earlier this month on heavy ground when getting off the mark at the third time of asking over timber. The Noel Meade-trained Dinard Rose can compete with Saint D'Oroux, who is better than his last start suggests, for remaining prize money.
- Cerberus
- A Wave Of The Sea
- Dinard Rose
