Offered more over hurdles than she had in bumpers but looks to be failing to progress although she'll find this easier than her handicap debut in a higher grade last time. An SP of 50-1 reflected her chance and mark last time; more still needed.
Handicap hurdle winner for Dan Skelton over 2m7f in soft conditions she's never really shown much spark since although she did finish second on her debut for this yard. Looked in need of the run last time (never landed a blow), still best watched.
Took four attempts to get off the mark in Irish point-to-points but has failed to progress in novice hurdles. Not given a hard time over 2m in testing conditions last time, she may do better in handicaps over a longer trip; market move to be noted.
Winner of an Irish point-to-point she's so far cut little ice over hurdles but three quick runs were indicative of connections rushing to get her a mark. A cocktail of this trip, ground and handicaps may well see her offer more given her pedigree.
Irish point-to-point winner from a yard that can never be ignored around here she's so far only shown modest form over hurdles. Better than her finishing position last time, she may have found the trip a little too much, one to keep an eye on.
Finally backed up the promise of a few of her runs when romping home by 15L at Uttoxeter last time over 2m4f; relished the testing conditions in a poor race. Handicapper gave her an 8lb rise for that; conditions the same but this looks a deeper conte
Form very in and out although she should be at home in testing conditions with all her wins coming in such conditions. Second last time out owed more to the lack lustre display of others rather than any progress she made; others appeal more.
Dropped 10lb by the handicapper after her initial outing in this sphere although the evidence for her mark is flimsy to say the least. First-time visor worn at Market Rasen now exchanged for blinkers, still hard to present a solid case for her chance
Little chance in novice hurdles but hasn't made any progress as could have been expected in handicaps stepped up in trip off lowly marks. Pulled up over fences last time (first-time cheekpieces); returns to hurdles 3lb out of the weights.
Forecasts
Vereina (3/1), Madera Mist (10/3), Fu Fu (6/1), Sauvignon (8/1), Lexi (8/1), Devito'sredrobin (8/1), Shotgun Sally (12/1), The Model County (16/1), Catchmeifyoucan (20/1)
One of the more interesting events on the card with Uttoxeter winner Vereina asked to overcome an 8lb rise for her clear cut 15L win last time. The suspicion though was that race was a rather weak one and she will need to improve again in this deeper contest. Devito’sredrobin catches the eye shaping nicely last time at Southwell although this test may prove a little too much for her at this stage of her career while Catchmeifyoucan surely has a race of this nature in her as she enters handicaps over a staying trip. MADERA MIST has gained a handicap mark very quickly and connections look keen to make use of it especially as this point-to-point winner is now given a proper test.
- Madera Mist
- Catchmeifyoucan
