Twice a hurdles winner last season over longer trips his jumping on his fencing debut failed to pass muster (pulled up). Has won left-handed but may be better this way round, second run back from wind surgery, mark still looks stiff enough.

Three-time course winner over 2m4f he was back to winning ways last time under a good finessing ride from Sean Quinlan (gets on well with him). Has his quirks and a new pilot today with a career-high mark to overcome; not sure what to expect.

Formerly with Tony Carroll this dual point-to-point winner has yet to score under Rules although he now gets a slight ease in grade. Jumping has been a bit hit-and-miss so far (poor last time); new yard need to find what if anything makes him tick.

Showed improved form to win at Stratford (second start over fences) in August but that form looks weak and dubious now having failed twice since. Both subsequent efforts have come back at the scene of his win; comes here with questions to answer.

There was some mild promise in a few of his start for David Bridgewater, started favourite in two of his last three runs for that yard but merely added to a patchy record. Underperformed on his first start for this yard, jury still out on his chance.

Rather quirky type; does have a good record in this race winning it in 2017 (last win), finished second last year. Given a rare spin over hurdles at Hexham last time back from six months off; that should have put him right for another shot at this.

Far from the useful performer he used to be, returns from an absence but his last win came off a similar break. 2-9 over fences so has a better record than some of these; wouldn't rule out a decent run at this level in a weak heat.

Royal Actp20
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-2| J: Lee Edwards| T: S-J Davies| OR:  91
7/1
Hovering just above his last winning mark which was obtained when winning his third chase at Taunton (goes well at the track). Ran a reasonable race last time at Ffos Las (jumped better than usual); seemed to enjoy positive tactics, handles heavy.

Yourholidayisoverp,t26

100/1
A well-known character who has thrown away numerous winning opportunities with his weak and idle finishing efforts. 21lb out of the handicap here and very little chance on what he's shown of late, best left alone.

Forecasts

Zolfo (11/4), Uno Valoroso (4/1), Destined To Shine (9/2), Royal Act (7/1), Mistercobar (7/1), Cybalko (9/1), Bagan (10/1), Lightentertainment (33/1), Yourholidayisover (100/1)

Verdict

None of these can really be trusted although Uno Valoroso returns to the scene of some of his best form having won this in 2017 off a mark of 107 (8lb better off today) having also second in this last year off that same mark. Tuned up for this over hurdles he looks set to make his mark again if on his best behaviour. Royal Act will appreciate the ground its just a question of his jumping holding up whilst Mistercobar could well improve for a change of stable. Zolfo certainly knows his way around here but will he cope with a new trip and rider as he can take some knowing. A chance is taken that LIGHTENTERTAINMENT can make use of his fairly lenient mark returning from a break in a weak heat.
