Well below form on his last two starts having picked up the winning thread with a Redcar victory (7f) in August. Yet to be tested on Fibresand and by a sire with a very poor record with his progeny on the surface; best watched for now.
Takes a 2f step up in trip having run respectably over 5f here last time (never really threatening to get in a winning position). Best form at Nottingham and away from there his form leaves something to be desired, needs others to run below-par.
Bettered his two previous attempts on this surface when winning over 6f last month edging ahead close home (won by a head). Well held last time back on turf (very testing ground); can be given a fair chance if forgiven that display back on Fibresand.
Previous turf winner when trained in Ireland; took a big step forward on his stable/GB/Fibresand debut over 1m last time (forger clear, won with plenty in hand). 8lb rise far from harsh and looks one to follow despite the drop to 7f.
Four-time course winner with one of his two C&D wins coming in this contest last year albeit off a 6lb lower mark. May well have needed the outing over 6f here last time (sixth to Young John); likely to be sharper now, no forlorn hope to repeat.
Has shown in the past some good form around here totalling four win in all with three coming at this trip. Four attempts here though since his last win and underperformed over 1m at this venue last time, others make more appeal on this occasion.
One of a plethora of C&D winners (clocked up six wins in that regard); well held on his return to action at Newmarket earlier in the month (looked in need of the run). Often starts slowly, comes from off the pace, 3lb lower than his last win here.
Has the aura of one who could burst into life for this yard with a string of placed efforts to her name since joining them (well backed on a couple of occasions). Adorned with first-time eyeshields for her Fibresand debut, note a market move.
2-2 over C&D producing a better performance on his second try on this surface travelling well to run out a ready winner from another who goes well on Fibresand. This is a step up in grade and therefore tougher, can't be ruled out despite that factor.
Forecasts
Fancy Footings (13/8), Wahoo (11/2), Fantasy Keeper (17/2), Young John (9/1), Custard The Dragon (9/1), Angel Palanas (10/1), Suitcase 'n' Taxi (12/1), Mister Music (16/1), Kindly (20/1)
With a glut of C&D and course form in general to deal with this will take some winning although the relative newcomer to the surface FANCY FOOTINGS could not have been more impressive on his debut here over 1m showing enough pace to be effective at this trip despite the 8lb hike in the weights. Dangers abound though with last year’s winner Angel Palanas waiting in the wings along with another course regular Custard The Dragon both having had a recent outing to blow the cobwebs away. Young John also has to be respected as does the unbeaten over C&D Suitcase ‘N’ Taxi despite that one taking a sharp rise in grade. Kindly with new headgear needs watching closely in the market.
