Horse A-Z
86-rated Flat performer whose lone win came over 1m1f at Newmarket on soft ground. Was also Listed placed at Hamilton so looks a smart hurdles recruit to this top and in-form yard.
2
Horse silk
100/1
68-rated Flat maiden who fell at the first on hurdles bow last month. Best watched here.

Beaten 25L into sixth on hurdles debut at Fairyhouse but given the experience he will have gained and the top team he represents better can be expected today.
Third on hurdles bow at Fairyhouse and fourth there seven days later. Had rivals today behind in both starts so has to be shortlisted and jockey could hardly be in better form.
45-rated Flat performer showed little to suggest him one to be involved with today on hurdles bow.

66-Rated Flat performer a good way behind Instant Return when 10th on debut over obstacles last week at Fairyhouse.

50-rated Flat maiden showed genuine promise in last two starts and appreciation for testing ground also. Over hurdles against superior Flat types but looks a horse on an upward curve so not dismissed here.
9
Horse silk
11/4
20/1 winner of a 1m6f Navan handicap on final Flat start last month (handicap debut). Joined a respected trainer for this and should have plenty of stamina for NH racing going forward. One for the shortlist.
Glimpses of promise on the Flat but tailed off on hurdles bow at Galway so remains best watched here.

70-rated Flat maiden showed some ability in last two starts and certainly an appreciation for testing ground. Market may be a helpful guide.
Five-race maiden on the Flat for trainer Amy Murphy. Best watched on hurdling debut unless the market suggests otherwise.

Won his last two starts on the Flat at the Curragh and Galway (both over 7f on testing ground). Interesting recruit to hurdles although stamina a slight concern at this stage.
14
Horse silk
100/1
Very poor maiden on the Flat and would be a huge surprise if she makes the shake-up here.
15
Horse silk
25/1
Second on hurdles bow last month albeit a 33L second a promising enough effort for this very ordinary Flat performer. This at least as strong as aforementioned race but has each-way claims.

Tailed off in all three races over hurdles so far so difficult to find cause for optimism here.

Forecasts

Aspire Tower (9/4), Sea Ducor (11/4), Instant Return (7/2), Wolf Prince (8/1), Weather Alert (12/1), Yafordadoe (14/1), Gealach (14/1), Lightsider (25/1), Majority Share (25/1), Top Line Tommy (50/1), Morph (50/1), Little Stone (50/1), Sean Says (100/1), Jess's Corner (100/1), Futurum Regem (100/1), Cosmic Jazz (100/1)

Verdict

With the majority of those to have run over hurdles showing little this looks a decent opportunity for ASPIRE TOWER to make a winning start over timber. The best Flat performer in the race by some distance, Henry De Bromhead's new recruit will surely take plenty of beating providing a clear round of jumping. The biggest threat may prove to be Instant Return who has two solid hurdles efforts in the books already this month although Sea Ducor is another of the more interesting hurdles debutants after winning well latest.
  1. Aspire Tower
  2. Instant Return
  3. Sea Ducor
