The winning sequence continues, extended to four when beating Haafapiece by 1¾L at Fakenham (2m4f, good) last month; the majority of his latest 7lb rise is negated by Danny McMenamin's 5lb claim; really ought to be positively involved.
Strapping 4yo; looked to be headed in the right direction when winning a Sedgefield bumper (2m1f, good to soft) in January; things haven't quite gone according to plan over hurdles yet, but he was better at Carlisle latest; handicap debut.
Beaten a neck by Lady Samback at Perth (2m, good) in May and broadly consistent on the Flat thereafter; her form has dipped a fraction more latterly, and she's not obviously well-handicapped from a mark of 110.
80-1 winner of a mares' maiden at Wexford (2m4f, good) in June; beaten 15L by the 1-4f Len Brennan on her second start for Alison Hamilton at Sedgefield (2m5f, soft) 18 days ago; handicap debut.
Merits consideration on her peak form (finished a close third to the progressive Derriana Spirit at Newcastle in January); much less effective since and easing in the weights; one of three declared runners for Carrutherstown handler Iain Jardine.
Formerly a fair chaser for Iain Jardine but showed little in Ireland for P.M.Cloke and weakened out of contention on debut for Daragh Bourke at Sedgefield (2m4f, soft) 11 days ago; may strip fitter so worth a cautious market check.
Nursed back to health this Generous gelding is a fine testament to the training skills of the Sedgefield handler Rebecca Menzies; 13lb higher than when winning over C&D in March (beat Iconic Belle by 6L); tough task?
Sprang a surprise when scoring by 1L from Ormesher at Bangor (2m3½f, good) in August; weakened quickly up the hill at Hexham on his next start and soundly beaten on the Flat twice since; one of three for Iain Jardine.
Ran well when seeing off all bar Global Tour at Ludlow (2m, good) on his penultimate start, and surely capable of finding a race from his current mark; 6lb lower than when winning over fences on his last visit to this track (March 2018).
Lightly-raced maiden (0-5 over hurdles) and stablemate of Keep The River and Something Brewing; kept on to take a modest third towards the finish when beaten 14¾L by Fisher Green over 2m here 19 days ago.
Half-sister to the useful 2m hurdler Hearts Are Trumps; however, hasn't shown a great deal of ability over hurdles herself just yet; needs to fare markedly better for the combination of a first-time hood and a step up in trip.
Forecasts
Trapper Peak (7/4), Nefyn Bay (5/1), Lastofthecosmics (9/1), Beast Of Belstane (9/1), Potters Away (9/1), Im Too Generous (10/1), Trongate (10/1), Keep The River (18/1), Iconic Belle (18/1), Something Brewing (22/1), Buttevant Lady (40/1)
Trapper Peak continues on a right roll (has won four on the bounce, including two for current trainer Justin Landy) and with the talented 5lb claimer Danny McMenamin removing the vast majority of his 7lb rise for his latest Fakenham win really ought to be there or thereabouts. However, a value-based alternative comes in the shape of the Donald McCain-trained NEFYN BAY. This ten-year-old saw off all bar the winner Global Tour (second at Kempton since) on his penultimate start at Ludlow and sports an unbeaten record at this track (3-3).
- Nefyn Bay
- Trapper Peak
- Beast Of Belstane
