Built on a promising return from a break when finishing a neck second in a 7f handicap at Kempton a month ago. Raised 1lb for that effort and is a notable runner having won over C&D in the past.
C&D winner finished a good third in a 1m2f handicap at Pontefract (good-to-firm) in July. Purchased for 22,000 gns by current connections subsequently and drops markedly in trip on debut for this yard having been gelded in the interim.
C&D winner registered his second victory at Brighton when winning over this trip on good-to-firm ground in September. Has to defy a 2lb rise in the weights if he is to take this event.
Eight race maiden wore blinkers (retained) for the first time when finishing runner-up in a 7f claimer at Chelmsford last time out. Interesting to see how he fares back in handicap company.
Successful over 7f at Carlisle (heavy) in first time hood (retained since) in August and performed well when fourth over this trip at Chelmsford last time out when returning from a break. Notable runner once more.
Five race maiden placed on handicap and stable debut when third over 1m at Carlisle (good-to-soft) in September. Below that form upped to 1m3f at Kempton last time out however. Drop in trip a positive.
Dual AW winner including by a head over this C&D last time out. Runner-up has won since and he holds strong claims despite a 2lb rise in the weights.
Winner over 6f at Yarmouth (good-to-firm) in August and running well in the main since. Beaten 3¾L when fourth over 6f here last time out and ran well over this trip at two.
Successful six times in a 45 race career but has finished well held in six starts since rejoining this stable. Well handicapped on his old form and was a winner off this mark over C&D in January.
Broke his maiden when winning by 1¾L in a 7f seller at Leicester (good-to-firm) in September. Returns from a break racing off the same mark as he did when finishing fourth in a big field handicap at Doncaster (7f, soft) the previous month.
Built on a good second over 6f at Windsor (soft) on his penultimate start when winning by a neck over the same trip at this venue last time out. One for the shortlist stepping up in trip despite a 2lb rise in the weights.
Disappointing since finishing fourth in a 6f handicap at Epsom (good) in September but signs of a possible return to form when fifth in a claimer at Chelmsford (7f) last time out. Was a winner off an 8lb higher mark at Lingfield in February.
Forecasts
Inaam (11/4), Javelin (11/2), Knowing Glance (6/1), Chookie Dunedin (6/1), Bahuta Acha (7/1), Onebaba (10/1), Great Shout (11/1), Al Suil Eile (16/1), Puerto Banus (16/1), Bay Of Naples (16/1), De Little Engine (20/1), Highland Acclaim (40/1)
CHOOKIE DUNEDIN can follow up his victory here last time out with a triumph in the concluding race on the card. The selection looks capbale of getting the better of Bahuta Acha who is well drawn stepping up in distance while third can go to De Little Engine, another to have won on his most recent start.
- Chookie Dunedin
- Bahuta Acha
- De Little Engine
