Lightly raced sort who had some fair form over hurdles but folded tamely in strong-looking beginners' chase won by Summerville Boy at Uttoxeter (2m) at the start of the month. This is an easier contest though so considered.

Quirky sort who had been running well over the summer before 17L defeat on final hurdles start at Southwell (2m4f) in June. Not seen since and may need to progress on chase debut.

Thrived in the spring of June 2018, winning twice, before 12L seventh at Hexham (2m) in May 2018. Not seen since however and best watched on return from long absence.

Dual winner over hurdles and finished last season with 5L third at Perth (2m4f) in April. Missed recent engagement at Carlisle but this looks an easier test. Claims.

9/4
Ultra-progressive with hat-trick of wins (including over C&D) on final starts over hurdles. Returned from enforced absence when last of five in hot-looking Carlisle novice chase (2m) and this looks an easier task.

Forecasts

Captain Moirette (5/6), The Some Dance Kid (9/4), Forecast (7/1), Schiehallion Munro (17/2), Randy Pike (50/1)

Verdict

A trappy-looking affair, THE SOME DANCE KID showed likeable progression throughout last season and probably did not offer his true running when beaten 40L at Carlisle. With him now stripping fitter for that he could be set further improve up the ladder. Captain Moirette contested a classy-looking chase debut (beaten by former Supreme Novices' Hurdle) winner, and while he was beaten far enough he could come on for that effort as well. While Schiehallion Munro has the same level of hurdles form but may be in need of this effort.
