Front runner who made all over 2m2f at Exeter last season and took a heavy fall on chasing debut on return there last month. Now back hurdling which should suit and respected despite his penalty providing his confidence isn't affected.

Shaped as though this longer trip will suit when staying on 13L third of nine over 2m3f on hurdling debut last month but that form has taken some knocks and others preferred.

Impressive point-to-point winner in March 2018 but hung left throughout when disappointing on hurdling debut in January here. Clearly thought capable of better and wind operation since so respected for in-form yard.

Placed in a pair of weak point-to-points but showed nothing for new yard having been sold for £15,000 when tailed off in bumper recently. Going hurdling now has to improve him to get involved here.

Off the mark at fourth attempt in point-to-point and sold for £30,000 shortly after. Very disappointing when tailed off having been sent off just 7/2 for hurdling debut and plenty to prove now.

Rated just 55 on the Flat. Showed something to work on when 5L second of eight on hurdling debut but well below that only run since and handicapping after this may offer better opportunities.

Saint De Reve16

5/4
Stepped up on his form in bumpers when staying on into 12L third of nine on recent hurdling debut. Should improve with that experience under his belt and top stable has won this race four times in the last five years.
Won on first completed start in point-to -points on good ground in April and sold for £68,000 shortly after. Bare form is nothing special but respected on hurdling debut and market should reveal more.

No sign of ability in a bumper and maiden hurdle at big prices and hard to see him playing a role here.

Top Man32
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: C Gordon
5/1
Won a point-to-point in Ireland and ran with credit on hurdling debut when chasing home a pair of subsequent winners over this trip at Kempton. More to come and claims with that run behind him.

Now returns to this yard having had a spell in point-to-points but was tailed off when last seen under Rules and makes little appeal.
Completely tailed off in pair of bumpers and a novice hurdle and makes no appeal on evidence to date.

Forecasts

Saint De Reve (5/4), Glynn (9/4), Cage Of Fear (9/2), Top Man (5/1), The Bull Mccabe (5/1), Rococo River (17/2), Dancingatdunraven (20/1), Jeremy Sunshine (25/1), Punkawallah (33/1), Whiskey Moon (50/1), Into The Woods (50/1), Poet's Reflection (200/1), Thestopperdunne (200/1)

Verdict

Glynn and The Bull McCabe are interesting recruits to hurdling having both won point-to-points and the market should tell us more as to what is expected, but SAINT DE REVE showed enough at Exeter recently to suggest he can make his mark over hurdles and can continue the excellent record of Paul Nicholls in this race.
  1. Saint De Reve
  2. Glynn
  3. The Bull Mccabe
