Ran better than for quite some time dropped into this grade (well supported) at Wolverhampton (1m6f) last month, only beaten by an improving sort under good ride. Former C&D winner is well treated if he can build on the promise he showed there.
Consistent performer on the AW circuit, with two wins and five placed efforts in 13 starts; while September's Plumpton run over hurdles suggests this 2m trip will suit.
Shed maiden tag with emphatic Southwell success in August over 1m6f and runner-up both starts since including over 2m1f on soft at Bath last time out. 2lb higher but progressing at the moment.
Course winner over 1m5½f last year, rated 2lb lower at the time, bounced back to form at Wolverhampton 22 days ago and lively contender here with that in mind.
Winner of a claiming hurdle at Huntingdon last November; adding to 1m2f handicap around here the previous January. Eased 2lb after some poor efforts lately in both codes and needs big comeback in first-time blinkers.
Just the one win in 38 career starts, landing a Catterick handicap over this trip in 2017. Yet to threaten in three runs for this trainer, despite plummeting mark.
18-race maiden on the AW, well held over shorter trip here 13 days ago and makes fairly limited appeal now.
Remains a maiden after 18 starts and although he has largely been running respectably this year, he needs to raise his game to get off the mark now tackling this new trip.
Modest form when with Richard Hannon (0-6) and unable to get competitive here over 1m5½f on stable bow this month. Others preferred again.
Unplaced in seven starts but has been running well enough around here recently, including over this trip, and could have claims on minor money.
Forecasts
Land Of Winter (1/1), Noble Behest (7/2), Ban Shoof (7/1), Miss Swift (11/1), General Allenby (14/1), Lyford (16/1), Lazarus (20/1), Picture Poet (20/1), Guaracha (33/1), Beechwood James (33/1)
The market spoke in his favour last time at Wolverhampton and NOBLE BEHEST was a bit unfortunate to run into an in-form rival in finishing second. He is a previous C&D winner and remains well treated on his best form, ensuring he looks the most likely winner on the back of that good run last month. The improving Land Of Winter and Lyford head the dangers while Miss Swift has been shaping nicely around here lately and could sneak in the money.
