Has prevailed four times chasing but is 0-7 over hurdles. He was second of six in a handicap chase at Market Rasen (2m5½f) on his latest outing. Back over hurdles again where he is down to a very winnable mark. One for the shortlist.
Lightly-raced gelding who is still a maiden after six races. He produced his best performance yet on his seasonal reappearance when he was second of 13 at Exeter (2m7f) in what was his handicap debut. Worth consideration here.
A two-time winner over hurdles. His form so far this season has been modest, including last time at Aintree (3m½f) when he was fourth of 11. Cheekpieces are on for the first time. Has each-way claims off this same mark.
His sole success came at Fontwell (2m5½f) in February 2018. He produced his best performance for a while last time at Exeter (2m7f) when he was second of 14 runners. Has gone up 3lb in the weights but he is one to think about.
Made a return to action last month after two years off the track where he had just one horse behind him in a 16 runner contest over this C&D. Entitled to have needed that run last time. Best to watch.
Point-to-point winner who has yet to score under Rules in six attempts. He has hit the frame on his last two starts, including last time over this C&D when he was third of 12. Has gone up just 1lb. One to consider.
Was a winner in a point-to-point on his debut but has been unable to add to that in four appearances under Rules since. He made his opening handicap appearance on his latest run when he was third of 16 over this C&D. Has an each-way chance.
Broke his maiden under Rules at Southwell (3m) last time out in a 12 runner field. Stayed on strongly at the finish. Has been raised 8lb for that success but he has a good chance of following it up here.
Was a winner at Fontwell (3m2f) back in May but has not followed that up since. He was a long way off the winner on his latest effort at Exeter (2m7f) earlier this month when he was eighth of 14. Needs to bounce back.
Has yet to score in 10 appearances. He hit the frame on a couple of occasions earlier this year, however, he was disappointing last time out at Exeter (2m7f) when he was 10th of 13. Not one to ignore.
Dual-purpose gelding who scored over this C&D back in March. He was well held when he was sixth of 16 on his return to this C&D last time. Needs to produce more than he has been doing recently.
Experienced operator whose last success was over fences at Worcester (2m4f) in June 2018. He was fifth of 12 on his last appearance over hurdles at Huntingdon (3m1f). Down 2lb in the weights. Others are preferred.
Forecasts
Good And Hardy (3/1), Golden Sovereign (10/3), Accordingtogino (5/1), Quiz Master (7/1), Landofsmiles (10/1), Laugharne (11/1), March Is On (11/1), Late Shipment (11/1), Buster Edwards (20/1), Lord Bryan (33/1), Auenwirbel (50/1), The Wallace Line (66/1)
MARCH IS ON scored in impressive fashion at Southwell last time and he can add to that here by defying his 8lb rise in the weights as he remains open to improvement. Good And Hardy has been fairing well recently without success, including last time over this C&D so take him to once again pick up one of the minor honours, while although Lord Bryan has shown his best form over fences, he is down to a mark now which gives him a great chance of being competitive here.
- March Is On
- Good And Hardy
- Lord Bryan
