1m2f and 1m4f winner this summer appeared to stay this trip when fourth at Wolverhampton last month (first try). Third since over hurdles so in decent order although welter burden demands a lot.

Winner over this trip at Southwell in May ran a rare below par race at Kempton latest over 1m4f. Better suited by this trip and may strip fitter today given latest was his first run in two months.

Stepping back from 2m to 1m2f saw him finally get a first career score at Leicester in September. Well held the last twice but tries another different trip here and one which might just suit.

Winless since notching up a 1m6f double at Redcar last summer and now 9lb below the mark of the second of those. Hit and miss this season and on AW in general but well enough treated to merit respect.

Won twice in the spring over both 1m4f and 2m but struggled to replicate that level since. Fair sixth over 2m at Kempton most recently but drop back in trip not a positive so better needed in the first-time visor.

Still a maiden and tried over all manner of different trips. Recent form concerning but ran well twice over C&D and once here over 1m5f last winter so wouldn't be surprised if she outran likely big odds.

16/1 when winning for the first time latest over C&D and he came from a long way back with a withering run to get up. Looks open to plenty of improvement now over staying trips and could easily overcome 8lb rise.

Winner of a 1m1f Lingfield claimer in August and only ran twice since including handicap debut at Wolverhampton latest when sixth over 1m1½f. Massively up in trip now and pedigree/racing style cast plenty of doubts he'll stay.

Finally found a level of consistency since upped to this sort of trip and front-running with three thirds from 1m6f-2m most recently. Third to Homesick Boy latest and 9lb better off for 5L defeat so weighted to go close.

Upped fully 5f to 2m for his handicap debut latest he kept on for second of five behind an easy winner. Still very unexposed at this stage and a more strongly run race may suit (keen latest). Interesting contender.

Verdict

Stepping up to this trip latest brought about huge improvement in HOMESICK BOY who powered clear to win going away. He looked a horse to stay on the right side of in staying handicaps beyond 1m4f there and is fancied to follow up today. Third to the selection and now 9lb better off Ignatius may prove the biggest danger especially if Joey Haynes can get a soft lead and dictate his own fractions. Unexposed Que Quieres looks a whole lot more appealing after his step forward last time out.
