Better on AW than turf and bounced back from some modest efforts when landing a 1¾m handicap here earlier in the month. Won by 11L, so a 10lb rise in the weights is perhaps not as harsh as it sounds.

Comfortable winner at Musselburgh (1m1f, soft) in August, but that was his first success since late 2017, and he's typically been back into his shell subsequently. Others preferred again.

Dual winner over 1½m on Tapeta, and also scored over hurdles when with Olly Murphy. Well held in two turf Flat starts for this trainer, and needs to improve for this return to AW.

Won at Wolverhampton last December, but has been soundly beaten on both starts since, including here, and has something to prove as a result.

On the same mark as when scoring over 1¾m here last December, and got back to form when winning narrowly at Nottingham (1¼m, heavy) last month. Should remain competitive.

Lightly raced filly who improved when ½L second of 7 to Wadacre Galoubet in a 1¾m handicap here late last month. Doesn't have much to find to go one better, and drop back to 1½m should be no hardship.

Won over C&D last month, and in the frame on his last two starts over C&D behind Grazeon Boy. Beaten 10L and 12L in those races, though and that suggests he's a little too high in the weights.

Inconsistent sort, and while he was back to form when third at Brighton on his penultimate start, he followed that with a poor effort at Yarmouth. Better on this surface, although mark reflects that, and others safer.

Landed the odds (1/3f) in a three-runner affair in Guernsey (1m2f, firm) in May, but of more significance is his easy 7L win over C&D last time when a visor replaced his usual blinkers. Fair chance if he's able to repeat that effort now.

Creditable second at Yarmouth in June, but her form has taken a marked downward turn in recent starts, and she's not easy to fancy as a result.

Best effort when landing a C&D handicap in September, and ran creditably when third here next time. Latest turf effort easy to ignore, and he ought to be competitive back on this surface.

Still only had one bright spot on his dance card, that being his Redcar win in May 2018. Not come close to replicating that since, and minimal promise on debut for new yard last month having left Mark Johnston.

Forecasts

Blowing Dixie (11/8), Twpsyn (3/1), Restive (7/1), J Gaye (15/2), Cold Harbour (10/1), Country'n'western (14/1), Princess Harley (33/1), Contingency Fee (33/1), Pioneering (40/1), Compatriot (40/1), Scrafton (100/1), If We Can Can (100/1)

Verdict

Several of these have recent C&D wins to their names, and the one who gets the vote is BLOWING DIXIE, who us better than he's shown since scoring here in September. Restive won by a long way here last time, and is feared despite a big hike in the weights, and Twpsyn is also a contender assuming a visor continues to have a galvanising effect on him.
