Swiss Spirit half-brother to 5f/6f winner Thornaby Princess. Better effort to date when 9L second of 3 to Mogsy in a 7f novice at Catterick last time. Still has plenty to find on that if he's to be competitive.
Improved as expected from debut when runner-up at Redcar in April, and returned from an absence to match that form and placing at Newcastle last time, when finding Desert Caravan too strong. This looks a little easier, and he should go close.
Homebred half-brother to 6f winner Night Shadow, out of a maiden half-sister to useful winner up to 1m Thunderball. Entitled to need experience on debut, and yard not associated with first-time winners as a rule.
Showed a bit on Wolverhampton debut, and duly improved from that when 5¼L third of 7 to Mosakhar in a 1m maiden here last time, making much of the running. Drop back to 7f may well be in his favour.
Came home fourth of eight on his opening start over 1m here, but essentially well beaten, and similar story at Chelmsford last time. Has some ability, but probably needs time to harness it.
Not one of her yard's stars, and has gone backwards since a mildly promising return at Yarmouth. Disappointing last time, but can't be dismissed as connections seek a win to boost her broodmare value.
Former stablemate of Geneva Spur, and another well-bred filly who could do with a win to enhance her breeding profile. Below her best on debut for new yard last time, but that would still see her competitive in this weak race.
Half-sister to two Fibresand winners (Ebitda/Socialites Red) who managed a moderate fifth on debut here last month. Will need to come on significantly for the run to be involved here.
Half-sister to four winners, but she looked clueless on debut at Chelmsford recently, and was never out of last place. Will do better at some stage, but this comes plenty quick enough.
Forecasts
Bobby Shaft (1/1), Gleeful (3/1), Memory Hill (5/1), Geneva Spur (9/1), Six Til Twelve (14/1), Thornaby Spirit (25/1), Feel The Thunder (33/1), Inn With The Gin (50/1), Just A Touch (66/1)
BOBBY SHAFT is the most appealing of these on recent evidence, and he may improve a little from his latest second at Newcastle, which came off the back of an absence. Neither Gleeful not Geneva Spur have lived up to their respective pedigrees, but both would enhance their value as broodmares with a win, and they can be expected to be given every chance.
