The Two Amigos30
Age: 7|  Weight: 12-1| J: Matt Griffiths| T: Nicky Martin| OR:  142| D
4/1
Won three of first four starts over fences before falling in Haydock's Grand National Trial in February. No worries on stamina and should be cherry-ripe after recent hurdles run; obvious contender.

Captain Cattistockp,t21
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Lorcan Williams(3)| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  139| C
5/2
Won two of his four novice chases last season, latterly over 3m2f at this track on good ground in April. Appeared to run out of gas on last month's return at Wincanton and may well be much sharper now.

Shanroe Santosb224
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-6| J: L P Aspell| T: L Wadham| OR:  133| CDWS
5/1
Rated 1lb higher than when landing this a year ago, fairly consistent thereafter without winning and has undergone wind surgery since last spotted. Lack of a recent run some concern.
4

The Callerv28
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-10| J: T J O'Brien| T: R Stephens| OR:  123
6/1
Off the mark at the fourth attempt over fences when winning Sedgefield handicap (3m5f, soft; 13-2) last month. 6lb higher but remains unexposed in this sphere and could run another big race.

Invincible Cavep30
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: Tom Cannon| T: C Gordon| OR:  123
20/1
Won a 3m maiden hurdle for Gordon Elliott in February but yet to convince over fences and was last of five on debut for these connections at Fakenham (3m, good; 7-1) last month. More to prove than a few of these.

Chasmap,t28
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-9| J: David England| T: D Skelton| OR:  122
10/1
Mare has taken form to new level since joining this yard, winning at Newton Abbot (3m2f, good; 9-4) in July on stable bow and second all three starts since (behind The Caller latest at Sedgefield). Needs extra but should give solid account.

One Of Us21
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-3| J: J E Moore| T: Nick Williams| OR:  116
9/2
Consistent sort, seemingly relished the step up to 3m6½f at Exeter (good to soft) when winning in April; not without support on last month's Wincanton return but shaped as if needing the run. Retains scope for better.

Forecasts

Captain Cattistock (5/2), The Two Amigos (4/1), One Of Us (9/2), Shanroe Santos (5/1), The Caller (6/1), Chasma (10/1), Invincible Cave (20/1)

Verdict

Hard to cross off any of the seven runners, with last year's winner Shanroe Santos back for a second tile off just 1lb higher in the ratings. He's had a wind operation since he was last spotted but his lack of a prep run is a concern. The Two Amigos was progressive over fences last season and has leading claims. He's had a spin over hurdles and should go well despite top-weight. THE CALLER landed a similar event at Sedgefield in September and remains unexposed in this sphere ensuring he's fancied to defy his 6lb rise. One Of Us is another with scope for better things while Captain Cattistock should be sharper after his comeback run.
  1. The Caller
  2. The Two Amigos
  3. One Of Us
