Dual hurdle winner here last season (both 2m, soft). Looked very useful in that sphere when last seen in a Class 2 handicap at Newcastle in February. Dearth of chase experience in his pedigree, but that may not stop him winning here again on debut.

Novice hurdle winner over 2m2½f last season, and looked useful on his reappearance in that discipline, when ½L second in an Aintree Class 2 handicap last month. Half-brother to a chase winner and should be competitive on debut in this sphere.

Very useful over hurdles and although a beaten favourite on last month's chase debut at Carlisle (2m, good to soft), he was beaten just a head, with the front pair 16L clear. Probably the one to beat.

Won his first three starts in bumpers and a novices' hurdle for Brian Ellison in 2016 and 2017. Beaten in a match for this race last year. Lost his way either side of wind surgery earlier this year. Has ability if new trainer can revive him.

Well held in both her hurdles starts and looks best watched in this line-up on her chase debut.

Forecasts

Good Boy Bobby (1/4), Garrettstown (7/1), Albert's Back (15/2), Ravenhill Road (12/1), Shaw's Dilemma (125/1)

Verdict

An interesting contest despite the small field. Ravenhill Road arrives with a bit to prove, but he can't be written off. Garrettstown's trainer Olly Murphy should have a good line on whether his representative can beat GOOD BOY BOBBY, who was only just held by by one of his runners at Carlisle last month. However, the latter is suggested here, as there should be improvement to come. Albert's Back tackles fences for the first time, but if bringing his hurdles ability with him, he can't be ruled out.
  1. Good Boy Bobby
  2. Garrettstown
  3. Albert's Back
