A point-to-point winner at Dromahane (3m) who made his debut under Rules at Stratford over the extended 2m trip last month, finishing eighth of 11. Will need to improve here but shouldn't be discounted.
Made his debut at this track over 2m4f earlier this month where he came back a long way down the field in ninth place of 10 after going off at 100/1. Will need to take a huge stride forward here. Others appeal more.
Showed a lot of promise on his second racecourse appearance when he was the runner up in a bumper at Market Rasen (2m½f). Made his first start over hurdles last time at Ludlow (2m) where he was third of 11. Can build upon that here. One to consider.
Prevailed in a point-to-point at Courtown (3m). Was then well held on his Rules debut though in a bumper at Sedgefield (2m1f) as he had just one rival behind him in an eight runner contest. Needs to improve now he is over hurdles. Best to watch.
Showed very little in two point-to-point starts, while he was well beaten on his Rules debut in a bumper at Carlilse where he finished 11th of 14 after going off at 125/1. He is difficult to make a case for here.
Was a winner on the Flat as a two-year-old at Chantilly (1m1f). Finished third of seven on his last run at Angers (1m7f). Set for his opening run in the UK and his first start over hurdles now he has changed yards. Worth consideration.
Has failed to shine so far in three attempts under Rules. He was fifth of 11 at Hereford (2m3½f) on his latest appearance in a maiden hurdle. Is dropping down in trip now which should help. Not one to ignore.
Finished sixth of 10 on his debut at Carlisle (2m1f) in April 2018. Returned to action last month for just the second time when he was pulled up in a novice hurdle at Stratford (2m½f). Should come on for that outing but others are preferred.
Has shown very little in three appearances to date. His latest attempt came at Cheltenham (2m½f) last month where he was ninth of 11 in a maiden hurdle after going off at 50/1. Needs to improve.
Scored in a bumper at Newton Abbot (2m1f) back in May where he made all. Had to settle for second place at this course over 2m4f on his hurdles debut. Looks capable of more over hurdles. Leading contender.
Forecasts
The Swagman (7/4), Glockenspiel (7/2), Bon Calvados (7/2), Alnadam (6/1), Sense Of Adventure (14/1), Storm Force Ben (20/1), Crack Du Ninian (25/1), Spirit Of Waterloo (33/1), Bitasweetsymphony (50/1), Free Ski (100/1)
THE SWAGMAN is a bumper winner who made a promising start to his hurdles career here when he was second in a four runner contest over 2m4f. This trip will suit him so take him to get off the mark at the second attempt over obstacles. Bon Calvados was third on his hurdles debut last time and he is likely to do even better this time with experience on his side now, while former French Flat raider Glockenspiel is worth including in your calculations here as he encounters obstacles for the first time. He could be very capable as long as he jumps well enough.
