5,000 guineas Archipenko gelding out of winning French mare. Made a fair start when staying on nicely late on at Chelmsford last month, to be four-length fifth of 13 in better race. Drops back in trip but has storng claims in this company.
Third in Doncaster 6f h'cap in June then gelded and had wind surgery. Never sighted on recent start back at Southwell after 110-day break but should strip fitter. Placed just once in nine starts.
11-race maiden who has shown regressive form since his juvenile days with Richard Hannon. Not disgraced over mile at Chepstow penultimate start so drop back in trip looks questionable.
Only place in 10 attempts came in very modest Wolverhampton 1m1f handicap last term. Absent 10 months prior to recent spin at Chelmsford and has plenty on her plate once again.
Bred to win a race or two but has been disappointing thus far although has hinted she might be up to winning a very low grade race such as this. Back up to 6f and represents shrewd yard so not ruled out of it by any means.
This is a desperate contest, but the one who stands out is the once-raced ALVARO who did nothing wrong with a promising effort on his recent debut at Chelmsford and should be too good for his rivals here. Sarsaparilla Kit might make a race of it, while first-time cheekpieces may help the disappointing Ghost Buy. A similar comment applies to the regressive Swiper, who runs with blinkers on for the first time.
