Landed the spoils when stepping up in trip in a Punchestown 3m1f Grade 3 contest on yielding ground last month. Leading claims if holding his jumping together.
Ran a number of fine races last term in good company including finishing second to Kemboy in the Grade 1 Savills Chase at Leopardstown before landing the Grade 2 Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park in February. Best form puts him firmly in the mix.
Found success in the Grade B Troytown handicap chase at Navan 12 months ago before winning a Grade 2 contest at Thurles in January. Behind Jett on seasonal reappearance at Punchestown last month. Six-year-old Kemboy won this contest 12 months ago.
Disappointed on season return making too many mistakes when finishing second of eight beaten 6½L behind Snow Falcon in the Grade 2 Champion chase at Gowran Park last month. Won over hurdles on latest start and likely to be sharper.
Rated 174 in his pomp, the gelding has seen very little action in the last two and half years. Remains to be seen if he is the force of old. Trainer has won this contest in four of the last six renewals.
