Guerrilla Tactics24
Age: 9|  Weight: 12-1| J: Nick Scholfield| T: J Scott| OR:  112| D
20/1
Useful over both hurdles and fences and put in a good performance when third in 3m handicap chase at Kempton last month. Carries top weight but holds solid claims.

Horse silk
In Arrears166
Age: 7|  Weight: 12-1| J: Bryan Carver(7)| T: G F Edwards| OR:  112| CD
16/1
Multiple winner in the point-to-point sphere, including 3m hunter chases here in the spring. Pulled up on latest start but has the scope to perform with credit in this company.
3
Horse silk
Nativegetawayp17
Age: 6|  Weight: 12-0| J: R M Power| T: C L Tizzard| OR:  111
8/1
Fair hurdler. Mad encouraging chase debut at Fontwell (3m2f) before unsuited by drop in trip at Wincanton last time. Claims back up to this distance.
4
Horse silk
Tractor Fredt20
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: Page Fuller(3)| T: Jamie Snowden| OR:  109
15/2
Showed some fair form over hurdles for previous yard and shaped encouragingly on chase debut at Southwell (3m) before weakening into third. Place claims if improving on that.
5
Horse silk
Western Climate25
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-11| J: James Davies| T: Henry Oliver| OR:  108| BF| CD
8/1
C&D winner in the past but lost his way over fences last season. Looked to be booked for the places before falling at the last at Stratford last time out but still looks hard to judge.
6
Horse silk
Almost Gold29
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-11| J: T Scudamore| T: Ian Williams| OR:  108| BF
6/1
Fair hurdler who has looked a promising sort over fences recently and stepped up markedly to take second at Huntingdon last time out. Further improvement expected.
7
Horse silk
Blazing Tomp15
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: R Patrick(3)| T: Christian Williams| OR:  105| D
66/1
Point winner but hasn't transcended that form into this sphere. Down the field on handicap bow at Chepstow recently and offers very little appeal.
8
Horse silk
Itsamanslifet42
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: Benjamin Poste| T: Katy Price| OR:  105| D
16/1
Winner on chase debut at Huntingdon in January and bounced back to form with second at Bangor last month. Has the scope to build on that effort so considered.
9
Horse silk
Midnight Magict,v20
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: David Noonan| T: D Pipe| OR:  103| BF
12/1
Consistent sort who was rewarded for that with success at Wincanton on penultimate start. Hit the frame at Ludlow last time out when hanging badly and could be booked for minor honours again.
10
Horse silk
Big Meadow7
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-2| J: Bryony Frost| T: N B King| OR:  99| D
9/4
Looked to be out of sorts but took advantage of reduced mark to win at Chepstow a week ago. Quick turnaround not ideal but claims if replicating that level of form.
11
Horse silk
Findusatgorcombet65
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-13| J: R P McLernon| T: J D Frost| OR:  96| D
28/1
Looked to be in the doldrums before scoring at Newton Abbott a couple of months ago. Hit hard by the handicapper subsequently so career-best will be required.
12
Horse silk
Big Time Frankb21
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: Tabitha Worsley(5)| T: P Gundry| OR:  95
11/1
Still a maiden but hits the frame regularly but was well beaten third at Fontwell on seasonal debut. Should come on for that and looks nicely weighted too. Considered.
13
Horse silk
The Boom Is Back141
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-9| J: James Bowen| T: Christian Williams| OR:  92| D
20/1
Looked to be out of his depth under rules but left that behind him when runner-up at Ffos Las in the spring. Not as good next time out and may be in need of this run.

Forecasts

Big Meadow (9/4), Almost Gold (6/1), Tractor Fred (15/2), Nativegetaway (8/1), Western Climate (8/1), Big Time Frank (11/1), Midnight Magic (12/1), Itsamanslife (16/1), In Arrears (16/1), Guerrilla Tactics (20/1), The Boom Is Back (20/1), Findusatgorcombe (28/1), Blazing Tom (66/1)

Verdict

MIDNIGHT MAGIC may be a frustrating sort but showed his capabilities when winning impressively two starts ago before running respectably off this mark last time out. A replication of that performance should make him hard to beat. Almost Gold remains unexposed over fences and on the evidence of his latest effort could be the main rival, while the likes of Nativegetaway and Tractor Fred may have ore to offer at this trip.
  1. Midnight Magic
  2. Almost Gold
  3. Nativegetaway
