Looked a decent hurdling prospect in his youth but proving frustrating and needs to improve on what he has shown over fences though the drop in class may help.
Won a point-to-point in April 2018. Showed some ability in three novice hurdles last season and type to do better now chasing. Has had wind operation since last run.
Won three out of four over hurdles last spring on ground varying from good to heavy. Pulled up on comeback run last month but should be fitter now for debut over the larger obstacles.
Won a maiden hurdle on one of just starts for Dan Skelton but has since been sold for £6,000 to present yard and makes debut over fences though did land a Point-to-point in 2017 on sole start in that sphere.
Bits of form over hurdles last term but jumped rather novicey on chase debut here last month. Should come on for that but needs to sharpen up in the jumping department.
Form in point-to-points was nothing special and similar story in novice hurdles last term. Only of interest if market speaks in his favour.
Very ordinary form to date over hurdles. Now switched to fences and handicapping and needs to improve a good deal on evidence to date.
Poor form over hurdles and although stable form is a plus, needs to take a big step forward on switch to fences to play a part.
Result Amended
Lord Springfield - Original Position 4th. Amended Position 6th.
Arctic Road - Original Position 6th. Amended Position 5th.
Plan Of Escape - Original Position 5th. Amended Position 4th.
Forecasts
Arctic Road (11/4), Manetti (3/1), River Frost (11/2), Lord Springfield (11/2), Plan Of Escape (8/1), Article Fifty (8/1), Oh No (12/1), Walkin In The Rain (28/1)
A weak race for the grade and LORD SPRINGFIELD could be the type to make a better chaser and if the wind operation has worked he could be the one to beat. River Frost will appreciate this lesser grade and could do better especially if the market speaks in his favour, while Arctic Road can leave his come back run behind him now going chasing.
- Lord Springfield
- River Frost
