Sinndarr gelding out of an unraced dam closely related to a Group 3 Flat winner. Yard 2-15 with bumper runners here in recent years so may be worth a market check on debut.
Beat Hollow gelding out of 7f juvenile winner related to a Group 1 winner in Australia. Showed little on only previous outing in Ireland four weeks ago and makes debut for new yard. Others make more appeal.
Nice jumps pedigree by Kayf Tara out of a Presenting mare. Full brother won a bumper and hails from a decent yard so looks one to consider despite lack of a previous run.
Medicean gelding closely related to a couple of Flat winner at up to a mile. Raced prominently on debut over C&D in January before weakening final 2f. Absent since and will need to have improved to figure here.
Fair Mix gelding who is half-brother to four Flat winners at between 1m1f-2m. Slight worry that he wears a hood on his racecourse debut, while yard has been without a jumps winner for very nearly a year.
Decent jumps card has gone nearly four months and 46 runners without a winner in this sphere and this Yeats gelding looked backward when well beaten on debut in a Worcester bumper three weeks ago. Hard to fancy.
Second in five-runner Wincanton bumper on debut last month and will have learned plenty. Hard to know just how much that form is worth but should not be far away.
Mountain High gelding who has barely beaten a rival in three starts so far and looks set to struggle once again in this company.
18,000 guineas as a three-year-old and has a decent jumps pedgree being by Yeats out of a mare from the family of Grand National hero Amberleigh House. Yard in good form at present so no surprise to see him shape well on debut.
Doesn't make too much appeal on pedigree being by Dahjee out of a poor maiden pointer. Big surprise if he hits the frame here on his first racecourse appearance.
Connections went to 40,000 euros for this daughter of Shantou who hails from a decent jumps family. Rookie handler looking for first winner so any market support would certainly be worth taking into account on debut.
Flemensfirth filly out of mare who won a bumper and over hurdles and is from family of high-class chaser Klairon Davis. Made favourite for debut at Newbury so must have shown something, but disappointed. May do better here for top yard.
£60,000 Great Pretender filly out of a useful dam who is half-sister to Grand National winner Rule The World. Didn't show much on debut at Cheltenham in April but may do better now with another summer on her back.
Forecasts
Copperless (1/1), Joseph Hobson (5/1), Northern Poet (6/1), Just A Sip (8/1), Global Harmony (14/1), Ace Time (16/1), China Flower (16/1), Ballycloven Beat (20/1), Hewn From Granite (40/1), Dale Doback (50/1), Mountain So High (50/1), Gorgeous George (50/1), Pointed Spear (66/1)
No outstanding candidate here and it might be that the two four-year-old fillies, Global Harmony and JUST A SIP will have as good a shout as any. Both have decent jumps pedigrees but disappointed on the respective first starts. Marginal preference is for Just A Sip who looks the part on paper and may be a different proposition after a summer break. Northern Poet is a debutant who has the right kind of pedgree and his yard is in good form, while Joseph Hobson has the best form of those that have already had an outing and wil not be far away. Copperless is another worth considering.
- Just A Sip
- Global Harmony
