Winner of a Downpatrick bumper, well held on hurdling debut before pulling up when never in contention on chasing debut at Wexford all since June. Hard to recommend.

Solid and consistent in a number of bumper efforts. Likely to find improvement for a encouraging debut run on hurdling debut at Downpatrick last month.

Decent form in the point-to-point field and not disgraced on sole bumper start behind Envoi Allen at this venue 12 months ago. Creditable runs around the turn of the year in a couple of maiden hurdle starts over a similar trip. Claims.

Closely related to Bacardys, a top-class performer for this yard. Can be expected to improve on debut bumper run at Navan when last seen in December.

By Fruits Of Love out of a mare who was a winner from 2m4f-3m, sent off 100-1 and tailed off in 2m3f Naas maiden hurdle in March before a similar story on return to action at Down Royal earlier this month.
Generally well held in a couple of bumper starts when last seen in the spring. Market likely to be the best guide on hurdling debut representing a yard in good form.

Diamond Boy gelding bought for £100,000 as a three-year-old in May 2017. Ridden in third under 2f and soon no impression in a Navan bumper when last seen in March on racecourse debut. Worth a market check on hurdling debut.

Won a point-to-point back in March when sent off 4/6f. Second of five beaten 7½L in a Tipperary bumper on return to the track last month. Improvement likely on hurdling debut.

Poor form in the point-to-point ranks, the Aizavoski gelding suffered a couple of heavy bumper defeats when last seen under rules in August. Appears to have a mountain to climb.

Point-to-point winner has run well on all three starts in maiden hurdles before looking a little overwhelmed in a Navan novice hurdle over an extended 2m6f when last seen in March finishing last of five.

Hints of ability in a Sligo bumper following unseating his rider on hurdling debut at this venue in April when only getting as far as the second flight.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: Mark Walsh| T: P Roche

Well beaten 50-1 chance on debut in Cork maiden hurdle over 2m4f in March before an equally dismal effort at Galway on return to action last month. Doesn't look a winner in waiting just yet.

Showed some promise on his debut at Roscommon in May but seemed to have regressed by the time he saw the racecourse again in July at the same track. Tailed off on return to action at Wexford last month.

Monkfish193
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: Paul Townend| T: W P Mullins| BF
6/4
Point-to-point winner last year after which he was bought for £235,000. Second of 17 beaten 2½L in a Punchestown bumper in May but much more expected on hurdling debut for respected connections.
15
Horse silk
25/1
Well held in a Cork bumper when last seen in April but worthy of consideration based on his second of 10 beaten 2¾L in Punchestown 2m4f maiden on hurdling debut in February.
16
Horse silk
100/1
Hinted at ability in a Wexford bumper in April but has been well down the field in a couple of maiden hurdle spins at Roscommon and more recently at Wexford last month. Remains easy to oppose.

Verdict

A maiden hurdle, where many may struggle to get into the race. The Noel Meade-trained DIOL KER looked to be improving when last seen in a couple of hurdle starts at the turn of the year. The five-year-old can land the spoils ahead of the Willie Mullins-trained, Stowaway gelding Monkfish who is expected to be well prepped for hurdling debut. The Gordon Elliott pair, Multifactoriall for owners Gigginstown House Stud and recent Tipperary bumper runner-up Escaria Ten are worthy of further consideration and a check in the market as post time approaches.

  3. Multifactorial
