Triple chase winner at around 2m, including on soft at Ayr in March. 6lb higher than that here, but goes very well fresh and looks a big player under top weight.
Prolific chase winner at around 2m on good or good to soft ground. Has scored over C&D, but high enough in the handicap and genuine soft ground is a concern.
5-15 over fences at around 2m, including on soft. 4lb higher than the best of those and has a bit to prove after finishing tailed off on his Kempton reappearance.
Goes really well when fresh, as he again underlined when last seen at Carlisle (2m, heavy) in March, when a very easy 8L winner. Up just 3lb for that now back in a handicap, and has to be taken very seriously.
2m and soft ground is the ideal scenario for this four-time chase winner, who is just 1lb higher than his latest success at Ludlow in April. Won this race two years ago, when 1lb higher. Goes well fresh. Contender.
Has won twice since joining this trainer earlier in the year. Beaten 4L from this mark at Kempton (2m2f, good) last time, but can't rule him out dropped in trip. Acts on soft.
3-8 over fences, and acts on soft, although his best efforts have been on good. Probably not much scope for more from this mark, but if at his best he would be very competitive.
Six-race maiden. Has shown ability at times. There will have been bigger shock winners if he proves good enough here, but needs more than we saw from him on two runs earlier this year.
Forecasts
The Last Day (2/1), Solar Impulse (9/2), Theflyingportrait (5/1), Charmant (6/1), Baby King (9/1), Shady Oaks (9/1), Lillington (12/1), Wishfull Dreaming (14/1)
Last years 14-1 winner Yorkist was the only double-figure priced success in this race in the past decade, where no other winner was bigger than 6-1. That suggests we should concentrate on those towards the head of the market. 2017 winner Baby King is likely to be among those and should be capable of going very close from this mark, but the suggestion is CHARMANT. Trip and ground suit, and he goes very well when fresh, while there may still be more to come from this mark. Solar Impulse should be very competitive, while The Last Day is also respected.
