Winning 85-rated handicapper on the Flat; runner up over C&D on second hurdles start last month and should be a key player with likelihood of more to come now.
Mustameet filly, half-sister to bumper winner/useful hurdler Laser Light; beaten 100+L in maiden hurdles at Fairyhouse and over C&D last month.
Ran out on bumper debut at Galway in October 2018 and absent 323 days after, no improvement in further bumper/maiden hurdle runs at Ballybrit track and has raced exclusively on yielding/soft ground.
Liz Doyle's charge wasn't beat far (5L) debut in a Listowel bumper in September despite 33-1 SP; though she couldn't match that since at Punchestown; hurdles bow now.
Daughter of Beneficial, failed to complete in a couple of point-to-point starts before lacklustre displays in trio of maiden hurdles this autumn. May be one for handicaps.
Runner-up in 2m1½f good-ground maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe in May; since been competitive in trio of bumper starts and should at least be similar now back over jumps.
Daughter of Saddler Maker out of a Cadoudal mare. Pulled up on sole point-to-point start in March and beaten over 100L in 2m5½f Tramore maiden hurdle last month on rules debut.
Hasn't shown much in all six career starts including a heavy defeat on handicap hurdle debut at Cork in August. Hard to make a case for back in maiden company.
Sholokhov filly. Dam, bumper/2¾m hurdle/chase winner; represents strong stable and any market support on debut would be notable.
Daughter of Dylan Thomas out of a Dushyantor mare; 33-1 chance and finished ahead of only one rival in a bumper here last month. Needs to improve going over timber.
Flat-bred mare faced unenviable task as 100-1 poke on debut last week in Down Royal maiden hurdle won by Champion Bumper hero Envoi Allen (beaten 90L); nothing of that ilk in here but still opposed.
Sets the standard having acquired plenty experience in seven starts in this sphere for Jessica Harrington; runner-up at Kilbeggan (2m4f, good; 4-6f) in July when last out and has also gone close over this trip.
Frustrating bumper runner has been placed five times in eight starts in that sphere, including runner-up at Wexford (2m, heavy; 7-1) on reappearance last month. Goes hurdling and should give a solid account.
Promising bumper debut over 2m4f at Limerick in summer of 2018 hasn't been built on in two starts over timber, including as 100-1 chance over C&D last month in first-time hood (retained); plenty to find.
By Flemensfirth and she offered something to work when fifth over C&D last month on hurdles bow as a 25-1 chance; may build on that experience.
Eight-race maiden on the Flat, has looked regressive and will need to do plenty more for an impact on hurdles bow.
Finished close-up on debut in a Listowel bumper in September but since run poorly twice, including in first-time tongue-tie (retained) on hurdles bow at Galway (2m, soft; 50-1) and has plenty to find now.
Not particularly well bred but is related to some winning hurdlers; last to cross the line in 10-runner Punchestown bumper (2m, good to yielding; 66-1) last month.
Forecasts
Flicker Flame (1/1), Mrs Milner (9/2), Miss Aloud (9/2), Bonarc (7/1), Gambling Mistress (8/1), Cornerkova (10/1), Beautiful Betsy (50/1), Peace Approved (66/1), Benfit Of Kash (100/1), Career Guide (100/1), Porterhorse (100/1), Belle Etoile (100/1), Monatierna (100/1), Durrow Dancer (125/1), Desert Maid (125/1), Bonnemine (125/1), Sea Reef (125/1), Baby Sioux (125/1)
This is far from strong and recent C&D runner-up FLICKER FLAME should have the wherewithal to go one better for Joseph O'Brien despite conceding weight. Gambling Mistress is much-respected and has plenty going for her while Miss Aloud may have a say now sent jumping and debutante Cornerkova is one to be noted for an in-form trainer.
- Flicker Flame
- Gambling Mistress
- Miss Aloud
