Gone fairly close in six of his seven starts and deserves to get his head in front. Application of cheekpieces might just help produce a little more and should be very much on the premises once again.

Zebedee colt who has shown ability in two starts so far. May have found soft ground against him at Pontefract last time but has claims on his debut effort at Redcar if taking to this surface.

Sepoy gelding who hasn't looked any great shakes so far in three runs to date and looks the type that will probably find his level when he goes handicapping. Tough task here.

£35,000 Dandy Man colt, half-brother to winns at between 5f-1m2f. Yard gone fairly quiet of late and would be encouraging to see some market interest on him as he makes this racecourse debut.

50/1
Anjaal filly cost just 1,500 euros, out of a maiden dam. Doesn't make much appeal on paper and will do well to pay the expenses for this trip over from her native Ireland.
Intrinisic filly who has shown only modest form in two starts to date, both over 7f. Drops back a furlong but does look type to do better once handicapped .

Cityscape filly who finished a long last of 11 on debut at Catterick last week and may well need more time. Yard in fair form at present but would be a surprise winner here.

Swiss Spirit filly, half-sister to four individual winners. Not shaped badly in two starts here over 6f and with yard in good form at present would not surprise to see her there or thereabouts.

Daughter of Hellvelyn who ran fair race on debut when only beaten six lengths at Haydock, but struggled at same track last time on heavy ground. May well prefer this surface and not out of it on evidence of first start.

Forecasts

Asmund (4/11), Tommy de Vito (4/1), Lincoln Gamble (6/1), Redzone (12/1), Momentum (14/1), Grandads Best Girl (40/1), Pushover (50/1), Anjika (50/1), Jean Mary (66/1)

Verdict

The cheekpieces might just sharpen up ASMUND enough to finally get his head in front after a series of near misses. Tommy De Vito is a newcomer with potential but with his stable going through a quiet spell it would be encouraging to see some market support for him. Momentum has shown enough to suggest she can win a race like this, while both Lincoln Gamble and Pushover aren't out of it having both struggled on very soft ground in their respective recent outings.
  1. Asmund
  2. Momentum
  3. Tommy de Vito
