Bumped into a useful sort on debut before making hard work of landing a Ffos Las maiden in August. Ran poorly at Newbury last time, but not persevered with, and possible he'll do better with cheekpieces applied.
Has run to the same useful level in all three qualifying runs, but has been gelded and given a break since third at Sandown (1m) in September, and expected to do better.
Better than bare result in Listed 2-y-o Trophy on penultimate start, and improved to land a nursery at Wolverhampton (1m½f) last time. Up 4lb for that, but longer trip will suit, and respected.
Bred for stamina and appreciated strong pace when off the mark in a 7f novice at Southwell last month. Shaped like a thorough stayer there, and extra quarter mile sure to suit.
Well-bred filly whose best effort came when second to Alpen Rose in maiden at Doncaster in August. That form franked since, but she ran poorly on her AW debut at Kempton last time. Not judged harshly on that poor run, but must bounce back.
Second to Khalifa sat in a heavy-ground 1¼m maiden at Goodwood in September, but couldn't build on that at Bath last time, leaving him with a little to find now handicapping.
Related to winners over further than this, and possible we've not seen the best of him in three runs at 7f, but the handicapper is taking no chances with his opening mark.
Slowly away and green to some degree in all three starts to date, so possible she will improve a fair bit for the switch to handicaps, but opening mark is very stiff on what she's achieved. Cheekpieces on for first time.
Has run well to be placed on all three starts in nurseries, but those have been lower-grade races on the AW, and he finished last on his sole turf start, so has a bit to prove on this surface.
Forecasts
Global Storm (7/2), It's Good To Laugh (5/1), Clay Regazzoni (5/1), Tantivy (5/1), Tafish (6/1), Stars In The Sky (8/1), Selecto (11/1), Eventful (20/1), Rochford (20/1)
Clay Regazzoni and TAFISH are both all-weather winners last time, but it's doubtful whether either needs an artificial surface, and they are taken to dominate, with the extra distance likely to help the latter in particular. Global Storm has solid form in qualifying, and should improve for having been gelded, so is also considered.
- Tafish
- Clay Regazzoni
- Global Storm
