Wide-margin defeats in two maiden hurdles last autumn and hasn't been able to achieve much more in three bumpers since returning in August. Opposed again.

By Fruits Of Love out of a mare who was a winner from 2m4f-3m, sent off 100-1 and tailed off in 2m3f Naas maiden hurdle in March and off since.

Failed to make any impression in three maiden hurdles for Gordon Elliott and again at Navan (2m, good) on debut for this trainer. All to prove currently.

Got within 2L of subsequent Supreme Novice Klassical Dream at Leopardstown last December on second hurdles start, though much further behind when they met in February Grade 1. Hood sported then is retained (tongue-tie off) and may have place claims.

Uneaten last season in bumpers, culminating in gutsy Cheltenham Festival win; he's already a point-to-point winner and rates as one of the most exciting hurdling newcomers this term for top connections.

Newcomer for the Jessica Harrington, merits a close inspection but will surely need to be well above average to land this.

Cost €85,000 as a yearling and was a useful Flat winner in France, he ran well in two spring maiden hurdles at Fairyhouse and Naas over this trip, finishing fifth both times. More demanded on return to action.

Unraced Presenting gelding bought for €20,000 as a foal in 2014. Half-brother to dual winner Boru Boy among others; has plenty going for him but this is potentially a tough starting place.

Achieved a rating of 96 on the Flat for John Gosden in 2017; has a 757-day absence to defy going over jumps for the first time but could not be in better hands to make a fist of it.

Unfancied 50-1 chance and finished well down the field on hurdles bow at Navan (2m, good) in September; unlikely to take forward step necessary to be landing a blow here.

Well-rated French-bred, has shown a bit of promise in maiden hurdles at Cork and Fairyhouse either side of a summer break but will need a sizeable forwards move to be in the shake-up.

Won his bumper well at third time of asking at Fairyhouse, after he had run into a smart one on his debut and been brought down on next start; certainly looks capable of winning in this sphere before long but he'll find easier opportunities.

No impact in two starts in this sphere in early summer for previous trainer, would surely rank as a major shock to see him contending now.

Morzov gelding that is a half-brother to 3m hurdle and chase winner Another Frontier. 100-1 in both starts over hurdles and shown no signs of defying those odds.

Not typically bred for this, sports tongue-tie on debut and watching brief appears the way to go for now.

Justified 6/4f to land mares bumper at Cork on debut in May, had a couple of winners in behind but form not overly compelling. Looks to be trainer's best chance in this.

Verdict

Champion Bumper winner ENVOI ALLEN looked every inch a star in the making last season, winning all four starts. He promises to be better still over hurdles and it would be a disappointment should be meet with defeat here. His trainer saddled five winners here yesterday and should be at it again now. The long-absent Zenon is a fascinating runner for Willie Mullins, while Entoucas got close to last year's Supreme Novice on one occasion and may yet have more to offer.
