Age: 10|  Weight: 11-12| J: Jack Tudor(7)| T: Christian Williams| OR:  98
12/1
Best on a sound surface, and just 2lb higher than when winning at Fakenham earlier this year, but heavy defeats on his last two starts preclude confidence.
2
Horse silk
Minella Vouchert145
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: Adam Wedge| T: Alexandra Dunn| OR:  94
5/1
Ready winner at Market Rasen in May, and was travelling well when slipping up there in July when last seen. Fitness taken on trust, but one to consider assuming his confidence has not been affected.
3
Horse silk
Invincible Don28
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-7| J: C Gethings| T: S Durack| OR:  93
16/1
Made a winning debut for this yard when successful over 2½m at Worcester and ran well second over 2m5½f at Fontwell a week later. Perhaps best to forgive a poor run at Huntingdon last time, as that was too bad to be true.
4
Horse silk
Arquebusiert,v174
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-0| J: Jamie Bargary| T: Mrs E Bishop| OR:  86
20/1
Won over 2½m at Warwick last December, but rather a mixed bag after, and failed to finish on final 2018/19 outing. Back to his last winning mark, but needs to put best foot forward.
5
Horse silk
Lamh Ar Lamhh,t33
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: Tom Buckley(7)| T: N J Hawke| OR:  86| C
4/1
Just two wins in 31 lifetime starts, but they have both come on easy ground here. Well held on chasing debut, however, and while she should do better, others are more convincing here.
6
Horse silk
Quintop,t51
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-12| J: W T Kennedy| T: J D Frost| OR:  84
16/1
Record of 1-29 since joining current yard tells a story, for all that win came fairly recently. Can look very hard work, and best opposed for win purposes.
7
Horse silk
Midnight Owlet174
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-9| J: James Best| T: Miss C Dyson| OR:  81| C
25/1
Left in front to score over 2¼m here in March, but has failed badly to build on that since and the percentage call is to swerve this poor jumper again.
8
Horse silk
Mr Satco13
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-8| J: Nick Scholfield| T: J G Cann| OR:  80| D
9/1
Form is largely regressive over fences, and while he stopped the rot to a degree when fifth at Wincanton last time, it's dangerous to assume that will signal a revival.
9
Horse silk
Howlongisafootv7
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-8| J: L P Aspell| T: C Gordon| OR:  80| CD
13/8
Not the force of old, but benefited from a falling mark when winning at Uttoxeter earlier in the month, and far from disgraced over hurdles subsequently. One to bear in mind.
10
Horse silk
Max Ov28
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-7| J: Philip Armson(7)| T: R J Armson| OR:  79
9/1
Just a poor chaser these days, but has run at least respectably on his last three starts, and would have gone gone close but for a bad mistake at a crucial stage at Bangor last time. Not taken lightly.

Forecasts

Howlongisafoot (13/8), Lamh Ar Lamh (4/1), Minella Voucher (5/1), Max O (9/1), Mr Satco (9/1), Butlergrove King (12/1), Quinto (16/1), Invincible Don (16/1), Arquebusier (20/1), Midnight Owle (25/1)

Verdict

MINELLA VOUCHER was raised 10lb for winning at Market Rasen in May, but was travelling powerfully off his new mark there last time only to slip up, and he's capable of making amends if over that experience. Howlongisafoot dropped markedly in the weights before winning at Uttoxeter, and ran at least as well over hurdles next time, so appeals as the chief threat, although Max O is running well since being fitted with a visor, and is capable of taking a hand.
  1. Minella Voucher
  2. Howlongisafoot
  3. Max O
