Has frequently gone close before and after winning at Fakenham in June, and every chance here on balance, assuming he's not lost confidence after a heavy fall at Uttoxeter.
Her one hurdles win came when she was with Gordon Elliott and she's proved with this yard that consistency isn't her strong suit. Has fallen to a lenient mark, however, and can't be rule out in this company.
Now 3lb lower than when third at Exeter in April, but well beaten either side of that, and not easy to catch right. Hard to fancy with yard struggling for form.
Much his best recent effort when runner-up at Worcester on his penultimate start, and perhaps found 3¼m beyond him last time. Claims if that run ignored, but hardly a model of consitency.
Nothing to cheer about on the Flat or over hurdles in the last year, and her mark looks very stiff on what she's achieved.
Showed a bit more at Bangor in August on second start in handicaps, and built on that promise when pulling clear with the winner at Wincanton last time. A 3lb rise for that improved effort looks lenient.
Scored at Southwell (3m) back in May 2018, but has failed to finish in four of his five subsequent starts. Fared no better after 11 months off at Warwick in September, and can't be supported with any confidence.
Showed little before going handicapping, but did attract support prior to finishing second at Ffos Las in February. Ran poorly next time, however, and hard to know what to expect on return.
No solid form for previous yard, and soundly beaten on all three starts this season. Not easy to make a case for him, even off this lowly mark.
Struggling for form over hurdles this season, and although he showed up more prominently at Exeter last time, he ended up dropping away quite tamely. Needs to pull out more.
Has shown glimpses of ability over hurdles, but very little end product, and while the handicapper is giving her a chance, she remains hard to support.

Forecasts
Viking Ruby (11/4), Cottonvale (9/2), Pahaska (7/1), Jonnigraig (7/1), Cushuish (8/1), Cornelius Socks (8/1), Bumble Bay (10/1), Dubai Outlaw (14/1), Show Of Force (20/1), The Lion Man (33/1), True Thoughts (33/1), Ballycanew (40/1)
It will be interesting to see how Realta Dawn fares in the opener, as VIKING RUBY was a good second to her at Wincanton, but whatever happens, Neil Mulholland's mare makes most appeal in an uncompetitive affair. Cottonvale is consistent and can take advantage if the selection falters, with Pahaska best of the rest.
