Broke his maiden on the AW at Wolverhampton (1m1½f) back in January but has not followed it up since. He was third of 11 on his return to that C&D earlier this month. Down to a new career low mark now. One to consider.

Scored at Redcar (1m2f) on his second start of the campaign. His last appearance came back in July when he was seventh of nine at Beverley (1m2f). Now back to his last winning mark. Set for his first run for his new yard. One to think about.

His sole success came on the AW at Southwell (1m3f) last year. Has been well held on his five attempts in 2019, including latest at Yarmouth (1m2f) where he was sixth of 15. Down to a new career low mark. Worth respecting.

Has been unable to add to his victory which came on the second start of his career at Navan (1m). Was seventh of eight on his last run at Haydock (1m2½f) back in June. Has had wind surgery since. Best to watch for now.

Dual-purpose gelding who has been running well recently without success. He was third of 14 last time at Musselburgh (1m1f). Remains off the same mark here over this longer trip. Leading contender.

Has shown very little on the track this year where her form has actually got progressively worse. She came home at the rear of nine runners last time at Newcastle (7f) on the AW. Is down 4lb but others appeal more.

Scored three times last year but is still looking for her first victory of 2019. She could only finish seventh of 14 on her latest start at Southwell (1m) on the AW. Is back up in trip and has been eased 1lb. Has each-way claims from this mark.

Her form has been disappointing this year. She dropped down to 1m last time where she was fifth of 13 at Bath. The handicapper has dropped her 2lb but she needs to improve on what she has shown recently.

Remains a maiden after eight starts. She performed modestly well last time when she was fourth of 11 at Ayr (1m2f), beaten by 2¾L. Down 1lb in the weights. Is worth consideration at this new low mark.

Is on a long losing stretch which goes back to July 2017. Was disappointing on her latest appearance as she was last of 13 runners at Southwell (1m4f) on the AW. Drops down in trip here. Others are preferred.

Forecasts

Sociologist (2/1), Star Ascending (11/2), The Brora Pobbles (6/1), Manfadh (7/1), Born To Please (9/1), Lily Ash (9/1), So You Thought (11/1), Inflexiball (16/1), Jo's Girl (25/1), If We Can Can (66/1)

Verdict

STAR ASCENDING will appreciate the extra 1f here on top of what he ran over when he finished third at Musselburgh on his latest start. The experienced gelding is more than capable of scoring from this mark so he is worth putting your confidence in. Manfadh has yet to prevail on turf but this latest mark gives him a great chance of being competitive at the very least, while If We Can Can should enter your calculations now he is back down to his last winning mark.
