Broke his maiden with 5f novice win at Chelmsford two starts ago before bombing out on handicap debut at Bath (5f) on latest start. May have had excuses that day but bounce back needed off only 1lb lower.
Ready winner at Goodwood on debut but hasn't gone on since. Looked out of his depth when 10L fifth in 7f Newbury novice last time and opening handicap mark is high enough.
Not progressed as hoped since Windsor victory in July but was good third in 6f Chelmsford novice before not handling conditions in Swedish juvenile contest last time. Contender on British form.
Failed to heed his maiden tag yet but progressing with each start and stayed on well to take third in 6f Yarmouth novice ten days ago. Each-way claims if running up to scratch.
Off the mark at Lingfield two starts ago but subsequently well beaten over 7f at Chelmsford since then. Nice enough handicap mark though and may find nurseries to her taste.
Disqualified at Ripon earlier in the season but gained deserved victory at Brighton (6f) at the start of September. Respected on form but has 5lb rise to contend with.
Failed to land a blow on first two starts for yard and didn't need to improve greatly to finish second at Southwell - beaten 7L. Probably one to follow in the long-term.
Slightly inconsistent since getting off the mark at Newbury in June but was third at Wolverhampton before bombing out over C&D when last seen. handicapper isn't giving leniency too so is best watched.
Winless from four starts for Mick Channon but registered placed efforts at both Goodwood and Leicester (6f) time out. Not seen since July and has changed hands so market should guide.
Looked like debut effort was a fluke until running fine second in maiden auction contest at Wolverhampton (5f) earlier this month. Back in handicap company off dangerous mark so merits respect.
Failed to go in since runner-up effort at Brighton in September, disappointing at both Salisbury (7f) and Bath (5f) since. Need to prove a bit now.
Off to winning start in handicap company earlier in the season but not the same since, including last of five in 6f Salisbury nursery last month. Looks to be exposed now.
Forecasts
Mitty's Smile (4/1), Lilkian (9/2), Colonel Whitehead (9/2), Qinwan (5/1), Bowling Russian (13/2), Twice As Likely (10/1), Miss Thoughtful (20/1), Sovereign Beauty (20/1), War of Clans (20/1), King's View (25/1), Bartat (50/1), Sir Gordon (50/1)
MITTY'S SMILE had slowly but surely been getting the hang of things at this level after her Windsor victory with a good third at Chelmsford. She can be forgiven for her failed trip out to Scandinavia and it is hoped the first-time blinkers will irk the extra improvement she desires. Place claims can be made for the likes of Lilkian, who keeps defying the odds in her races, as well as Bowling Russian, who is progressing without leaving a considerable mark in his races while War of Clans could be.a dark horse if handling his lofty rise in the weights.
- Mitty's Smile
- Bowling Russian
- War of Clans
